Check out the lower right of the lightened photo uploaded by salochoaphoto.

It says Google.

No douche... it says no service, which probably means in order to buy it we're going to have to subscribe to another phone service. The wifi clearly works, that wasn't the issue. My iPhone has wifi, but I did't really have the option to buy one without also paying for the service.

Why didn't you just get an iPod touch then?

Is this legit? Mahalo founder, Jason:

How do you read with the font so horrible looking?
:p
also, some of the claims he makes...ie hdtuning, oled, rear solar panel??? should be taken with a grain of salt imo.

here's hoping i can tether my iphone to said unannounced device though...it would hurt to have to get a new data plan for it :(

I got one of the images and took it to photoshop and played around with the "Shadow/Highlight" setting to reveal more detail in the shadow areas and there seems to be another circular indentation at the top...maybe another home button? Camera? Maybe I'm just seeing things haha but it's interesting. http://i46.tinypic.com/30bgq46.jpg

Do you guys think this is not Google Maps but maybe Bing Maps? What about Apple Maps? Why not? Didn't they have a patent for it? http://www.9to5mac.com/apple-google-latitude-functionality-maps-2546345

This anticipation is killing me...we have like 11 more hours to go! Ughhh.
That is definitely Google Maps because if you look closely at the bottom-left of the Screen... you can see the logo. But the top "shadow"looks like a speaker slit. Maybe those leaked iSlate bezels were actually real....

If it's not Google Maps, then it's some sort of Tablet version of iPhoto's photo location map.

Alright, I'm calling fake on this one now. I'm saying this because at the top of the picture with the high exposure, you can see an ear-piece.. There is no way Apple is putting an ear-piece on this device..it doesn't make any sense to hold this 10inch screen to your face.

Engadget is reporting it's for Verizon. It better be for AT&T too or else Apple is going to have millions of pissed off iPhone users... If I'm 6 months into my AT&T contract, how can they expect me to also pay for a contract with another phone company, that's ridiculous!!

The black and white rectangles are there to keep the photographers identity secret.

Look at the white ones and it may be the reflection of the persons face.

Woops you're right. Didn't notice that those black squares were covering post its. But at least we know that people at apple prefer the square rubber configuration in photoshop as opposed to the default round one.

Textbooks? You wish. That article was mentioning typical hardcover books (novels). A price of a textbook will not dive 90%. Those college textbooks are updated virtually every year and have a team of people working on it.

yeah thats why they are 170 bucks. sure.

reducing the contrast and inverting the colors in photoshop gives a better view of what your talking about. to me it looks like some sort of glare. this is a typical "leaked" photo with bad quality. at least its over 1000px tall...

I guess we'll see. So you think fingerprint reader and solar pad on back then? :)

True, true…I'm not saying he's totally right but he could have been messing with prototypes and not a final build. While Apple is an extremely secretive company, it is just as unusual for someone like Calacanis to just lie out of nowhere. Even with his latest ComScore statement a few Mac journalists such as Dave Hamilton (Mac Observer) agreed with him on their Twitter feed and not just Arrington.

I'm not saying he's 100% on the money but it would be a heck of a lie if it did not turn out to be the truth to some extent. I think Calacanis can be an arrogant jerk but I'd never call him a liar without proof.

It looks more like a bezel. That indent in the casing is probably an easy way to grab the device when the case is unlocked.

I didn't mean like that. I mean't like Apple going ''Hey let's just develop a bigger iPhone and profit!''
There's no way Apple or Steve Jobs is just going to create a bigger iPhone. It's gonna be something a lot more then that in my opinion.
why would apple just make a giant iphone....seems fishy.
I find it almost impossible that Apple would create a 10" iPod Touch/iPhone.

Who on earth is saying that because it looks like an iPhone, it will be used as an iPhone? Geesh guys. :)

The pic looks real enough, it's consistent with a strong rumor recently about physically being a 'big flat iphone', and if it's running iPhone OS it will have all the hallmarks of those apps -- as it does in this pic.

My theory with that maps app is that it's the new maps application from apple. They are getting rid of google maps and that is what their own new maps app looks like.

Of course it will run Google Maps. There isn't a viable alternative within the timeframe of increased Apple/Google competitiveness (if you'd even call their competitiveness a reason, which is flimsy), and their relationship is still very much intertwined.

Looks like you do need a cell provider. I'll have to think about it before I consider getting one.

The wifi bar is there. You will not need a cell provider. That would be suicidal.

Looks like someone in a lab took the photo. you can see the black cloth that covers it. I hope that person doesn't get in trouble.

If the pic is real, and someone gets in trouble, they really can't expect any sympathy. :)

Unless it's a speaker. And I think you're carefully and closely examining the security or development bezel, not the tablet. :D

too be fair, engadget doesn't say it's for att because I assume it's implied and that they only wanted to report the new carrier that is verizon.

A whole new world of accessory cases, desk stands, swivel mounts, car adapters, screen protectors... I just hope they do not have the scratch-magnet shiny backplates that have been the curse of the iPod Touch and iPod Classics.
