Even though the Mac Pro would be a Xeon i7, having a cheaper iMac alternative with a Core i7 (overkill again) would still lessen the impact of the Mac Pro and I'm sure its sales would suffer as a result.

The lowest i7 is what 130w? With what 80w due some time later in the year.

The talk has been 65w core 2 quads and does the iMac have the cooling for them. i7 is this stage in the next iMac cycle at best.

She can use the 14-day remote selling laws. She can return anything, for any reason, as long as it is in it's original packaging. I think all she has to pay for is postage. UK consumer laws rock :)
 
danz90: the speed rating is the correct, just people's assumption that it's core2duo is not
 
What is the source for the specific processor specs for the new iMacs?
It does seem incredibly hard to believe they are not upgrading the processors AT ALL after an entire year. I think there may be a bit of purposeful bad information being put out.
 
I am following this with interest. From a journo point of view, it is really interesting and exciting to see how people are so hyped about any Apple related news.

Personally, I would love to see a nice updated Mac Mini. I was due to order a MacBook soon, but my money might just go elsewhere if the goodies are that good!

I'd have to agree. Upgrades after a year would have to have more than just marginal improvements.
 
Bandwith costs must be massive for MacRumors..I hope some of you consider donating or subscribing

Aperture 3?

One thing no one seems to have taken in account is that PMA 2009 starts in a few hours as well, so this update today may be something photo related. Like ex. Aperture 3.
