Will you be able to upgrade these to the 5580 3.2Ghz? Are Nehalem processors in the Mac Pro upgradable? I understand they are not released yet, but in the past the processors have been upgradable ? yes?

Wonder why it looks like we don't get the ass tearing one?

I would think so yes. Nothing to indcate it will be otherwise.

As has been said before, the specs don't say "C2D" imacs.. So these could still be custom quads or even core i7. We'll see soon enough.

The clock speeds 2.66GHz, 2.93GHz, 3.06GHz, are reasonable enough for those to be quad cores. 2.93GHz and 3.06GHz 65W TDP Core 2 Quads are doable if Apple wanted one off chips, and if they are lower volume, particularly the 3.06GHz model. Here's hoping Apple's just labeled them Core 2 Duo as disinformation until release.
Yeah I hope that's the case and we get a pleasant surprise. Given that high-end mobile CPUs are expensive there's room for pricey "special" 65 W quad-cores. Definitely agree with your comment on the 3.06 GHz model. But I don't think so.

If we only get a GT120 card, in the Mac Pro, that will be very disappointing. Nice way to underwhelm me with potentially a kick ass machine.
