All usual suspects tested or visually checked out.
Parallels and Boot Camp work acceptably well with Autocad 2009.
Good to great battery life.
Quiet and Great heat dissipation.
No trackpad issues..even the corner secondary click works.

I have been happy with mine so far, except for the way the glossy screen shows fingerprints from opening and closing the display. Sometimes I click and it doesn't seem to register (so I have to click several times to get it to do what I want), but it could be operator error because I'm upgrading from a 4.5-year-old PowerBook and it's hard to get used to the new features!

2.53/4GB Ram/512 VRam

No issues so far. Keys are straight, lid is straight, battery door is tight.

any weak/loose hinge problem ?

I have seen some threads with people complaining about it but not a single report here about it from anyone. I am really hoping to get as many new MBP owners as possible to post their data here, even if they don't have any issues so we can get a good sample size of data. I am entering all of it so far into a spreadsheet so we can analyze it to see if there is any pattern to it.

Pretty much perfect. The lid on the right side sits up maybe half a mm higher than the left side when the lid is shut. I don't deem this as an issue and it is barely noticeable.

MacBook Pro, Late 2008
Your Mac was built in Shanghai, China.
Your Mac was built in 2008.
Your Mac was built in week 44 of that year (October).
Your Mac was number 479 to be built that week.

So far everything is great on my new MBP, 2.4/320@7200. The battery cover does move a slight amount but imo is nothing to worry about. The click on the trackpad is a little louder but the tap to click solves that problem. No Dead Pixels, and everything else is great. Even the glossy is not a distracting as I thought it would be. Will report again after I use it more.

So far it seems to have a flickering backlight at below 1/2 brightness and a slight vibration, possibly from the hard drive. Argh. The upside is that the superdrive seems to vibrate less compared to the last one? Seems to be the same batch as my last one.

Two clusters of dead pixels in the center, as well as a faulty trackpad (intermittent non-responsiveness until a third click attempt).

is it perhaps worth people saying whether their build was custom or not ie processor or hdd as that may be itneresting to see if they are being built in a specific plant?
