Doesn't work.

Search doesn't search for anything. just sits there. "usr" doesn't exist anywhere on in the OS. what's up?

use 'go to folder' (under the finder's 'go' menu). make sure that the files are GONE from that folder after you move them (for me, they didn't move, they copied... so i had to delete them from the original folder)...

I agree. I had to delete as well after copy. Then when you move the files back, you will have to enter your administrator passcode

Is anyone else having issues?

I've got the latest PB and when printing I'm getting this error:

Stopped - Unable to startup session, error = -10, 1 page

Using MacBook Pro with HP Envy 5532

Any help would be greatly appreciated
Can’t help but have same issue with a Canon MG6350 and Epsom XP830. Have reported it via Feedback Assistants and am waiting (hoping) for quick fix. Reassuring that I’m not only one but....

Same problem - I went to /usr/libexec and moved all the contents in the "cups" folder to a new folder in my desktop, restarted and moved them back. Restarted and it worked! Without this page I would have been screwed! Thank you all!
[doublepost=1534002622][/doublepost]still need a little more help here. Did the move of the cups folder to desktop, restated, moved them back and restarted again. Only this time I get a slightly different message and behaviour. Looks like it is about to print, then yellow warning comes and goes but if you click on printer icon it simply says "stopped".
I do not reface with the high sierra cups (where would I find these please?) just moved them as outlined above which seemed to work for others.

Thanks, did follow it but still have a "stopped" issue which I have now posted. Any thoughts please?

I tried the fix but didn’t work I got a stopped message in the printing que.

What did work. I open the cups folder on the desktop and then went into Time Machine dated back to July 31 and did a restore of the cups folder contents. After that restarted the computer and added my printer back in the print manager. All worked well. Time Machine can be you best friend.

[doublepost=1533903521][/doublepost]Hello I found a solution. I replace the cups folder in the /usr/libexec by the High Sierra one, works for me (do not forget to rename the Mojave cups an other name (i.e. ¬cups), then I relaunch the system, the system tells me that the printer was not well installed, and if I want to prepare it, I say yes et voilà. Now I'm able to use my Epson XP 630 series. Hope it helps
Hi there, others users have posted that they simply moved out the cups files and then returned them followed by restarts. I did this and still got a "stopped' message on printing (different to the original error). How do I find the High Sierra cups files you mention, please?

I should have clarified - I moved the contents to of the CUPS folder to the desktop ( which required ADMIN ) then deleted them from the original - Restarted, then moved the contents back ( which required admin ) and restarted.

Once I tried to print - "printer needs repair " which I hit and it worked. Also may need to hit the green pause button to make the printer live again - Hope this helps!

Didn't work for me using a HP8702 printer. I don't get that same error message now instead I just get "error printing" and print que says print stopped. changing it to ready to print in the que just reverts back to print stopped. HP website says it does not support my OS version??

That's my situation too. Thanks DeSotollc and Fisherking but I don't get a "printer needs repairing" message, I now get "stopped" and no way of unblocking. Have even tried copying in to replace my cups folder from another iMac which is on high sierra. Still same issue but then....

I restarted again after copying in High Sierra cups, removed printers, restarted print system to clear all and then reinstalled printers. And it works! Joy! Thanks all.

The same happened to me.
Go to your printer preferences window; right click and "reset printer system". then unplug your printer for 30 sec.; then reboot your printer and re-add your printer under printer preferences.
Now your printer should print ok
[doublepost=1534006378][/doublepost]Just to be clear, you moved the contents of the cup folder to your desktop but left the cups folder empty in /usr/libexec/ ...correct? Then after rebooting your OS, you moved the files back...correct?

[doublepost=1534006765][/doublepost]Yes I did. So here’s the (strange) thing. I did a test print of a mail and the printer fired up immediately but printed a blank page. So many steps forward but not quite there yet.

Try a word document. If you tried to print from a Safari page, I find that it sometimes prints blank; or print from a .pdf

Genius! Tried word doc and it worked smoothly. Phew! Back in business. Thanks all.

worked here with HP printer. done it twice now, one to go

copy/delete from /usr/libexec/cups to some folder somewhere
reboot
copy back from folder to /usr/libexec/cups
reboot
open sys prefs, go to printers and scanners. highlight existing printer, right mouse click and choose reset option.
restart your printer (physically disconnect from power, wait, restart)
then... add the printer back again.

restarting the printer (power down, power up), wasn't required the 2nd time I tried this.

crazy that this workaround works, but okay, it does.

it's the right mouse click, reset option that was new for me.
