Apple did test it. They noticed that printing doesn't work well and put it in the release notes!
Apple taking on the old repairer's ethic of "Fix one problem, create three others"!!!Is anyone else having issues?
I've got the latest PB and when printing I'm getting this error:
Stopped - Unable to startup session, error = -10, 1 page
Using MacBook Pro with HP Envy 5532
Any help would be greatly appreciated
You can't fully test a Beta version on a non-working machine, though. You would also hope that people would heed the warning the Apple give with every pre release 'ONLY USE ON A DEVICE INTENDED FOR BETA TESTING' If printing isn't working, then the only people to blame are end users stick a beta release on their working machine!
I should have clarified - I moved the contents to of the CUPS folder to the desktop ( which required ADMIN ) then deleted them from the original - Restarted, then moved the contents back ( which required admin ) and restarted.
Once I tried to print - "printer needs repair " which I hit and it worked. Also may need to hit the green pause button to make the printer live again - Hope this helps!
"Doesn't work well'??? Doesn't work at all you mean!!

Unfortunately, if you're the one smart enough to come up with a great 'fix' you're the one us idiots pester!!
In your initial post, you mentioned replacing the Mohave cups folder with the High Sierra version. In this post, am I right in reading that you no longer need to replace the cups folder, simply copy/delete the files from it??
Cheers...>Scotty
Please screen shot your screen step by steps. Please. /usr/libexec
[doublepost=1534004225][/doublepost]what is a cups folder?
Thank you! Worked exactly like you said on my Envy 4510 series!Thats Awesome!
Not correct, my Epson printer drivers are 64 bit. They didn't work until I went through the cups folder procedure. From my understanding why the printers are not working is due to the fact that the drivers are 32 byte drivers vs 64 byte.
Thanks very much. About to give it a go.It seems like there are two ways that work: 1) is to replace the contents of the cups folder with the high Sierra contents. The second way is simply to copy the contents of the Mojave cups to your desktop, then delete the contents in the cups folder so the cups folder is empty. Reboot twice, then move the Mojave contents from your desktop back to cups, reset the printing system and re-add the printers.
I used the second method as I did not have a high Sierra backup.
Hope this helps
good luck

Followed your instructions, moved Cups content and rebooted computer twice. Then put Cups content back in original location.
On trying to print a document, the Printer Window shows the document as printing and being 21% complete. Nothing is showing on the printer as happening though. The error log shows "Unable to get printer status."
What worked for me is:
1) create a new folder on the desktop
2) search for /usr/libexec and move the contents of the cups folder to your new desktop folder
3) the cups folder should be empty at this point.
4) restart twice, reset printer system and disconnect power from printer. Plug in after 30 sec.
5) move the contents from your desktop folder back into the cups folder
6) go into preference printers and re-add printer.
You should be able to print at this point. Big thanks to Marc mjm
Thank you so much for the clear, detailed instructions--it worked perfectly on my Brother printer!worked here with HP printer. done it twice now, one to go
copy/delete from /usr/libexec/cups to some folder somewhere
reboot
copy back from folder to /usr/libexec/cups
reboot
open sys prefs, go to printers and scanners. highlight existing printer, right mouse click and choose reset option.
restart your printer (physically disconnect from power, wait, restart)
then... add the printer back again.
restarting the printer (power down, power up), wasn't required the 2nd time I tried this.
crazy that this workaround works, but okay, it does.
it's the right mouse click, reset option that was new for me.
How are you deleting the original? I cannot move or delete- only copy. What is the secret to changing the privileges?I should have clarified - I moved the contents to of the CUPS folder to the desktop ( which required ADMIN ) then deleted them from the original - Restarted, then moved the contents back ( which required admin ) and restarted.

I'm having the same issue using a MacBook Pro with an HP 8600 ProIs anyone else having issues?

I can make a copy of cups on desktop.
But I have no write privileges so any attempt to delete or restore old version to cups fails.
