I confirm. At 7 beta, the problem disappeared. A1706, printer - Canon MG3540 (3500). Everything is working.

Damn, I got it to work previously by copying my High Sierra backup "cups" files. Now that I updated to the latest beta, printing no longer works with a different error. Even though my Mac can see the printer just fine when I add it to the system, when I go to print it eventually says "Network printer is unreachable at this time." -- I have it connected via USB to an Airport Express.

Edit: It works fine when directly connected to my MBP's USB port. Can't figure out why printing via Airport Express is borked even though the Mac can clearly see the printer when I'm setting it up.

Fixed in latest public beta - all my printers are back - AirPrint, USB, and networked (Brother MFC-L2700DW/Xerox Phaser 6010N/Canon S900)! Yeah!

copy and remove from cups folder,
then reboot,
put the above back,
then reboot,
then reset printing system,
then power cycle your printer
then add the printer anew.

removing, putting back, and then rebooting twice is not the same as above. (I made the same mistake, plus resetting printing system is right mouse click on the installed printer, and selecting reset. reset here is not the same as power cycling your printer (which also needs to be done).

Michael,

followed your instructions and all worked perfectly. Can now print as normal.

Thanks so much for the clarification. You've got is spot on.

Bonjour,
for me it's always the same.... nothing works on my HP 3520 except the scanner and the copying function.
But it is always impossible to print something from my iMac.
Beta 6 hasn't fix the issue on my side.
I've tried for the third time Michael's method ... but nothing.
I'm now waiting Beta 7!!!

Annoyingly I've just updated to beta 7 and now it just says "stopped"

I previously tried the Cups moving thing which didn't work for me, I didn't persevere because Beta 7 landed. Anybody got any ideas why I'm now just getting a slightly different error that simple says "Stopped" ?

I was able to install the actual driver for my printer Dells S3840CDN and get it to work. Still not able to use AirPrint or Secure AirPrint. The problem lies in those protocols currently it appears.

Is anyone else having issues?

I've got the latest PB and when printing I'm getting this error:

Stopped - Unable to startup session, error = -10, 1 page

Using MacBook Pro with HP Envy 5532

Any help would be greatly appreciated

to celticwebs...
I had the same message yesterday with Beta 5 and also to day with Beta 6...
Waiting and seeing the next Beta!!!
For the moment, when needing a print, I send my files to my wife's iMac and I print it on her print device.

For anybody who still has issues after installing beta 7, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling printers and various other things and nothing worked. To fix it actually turned out to be simple. Hold the CTRL button and right click on your printer in preferences. Select Reset Printing system.

Everything was deleted as I'd manually done previously, but this time, when I added the printer again, it worked!

I'm not sure what the difference is but reset print system definitely fixed it once I'd gone to Beta 7 :)

no prob. I just tried the original poster's instructions a few time until I got the "open sesame" secret right!

now solved in latest beta so no need for workaround anymore :)
