I much prefer the vertical camera design with a camera flash ring design. Seems so much more futuristic than a cube.
The most futuristic shape is hypercube.
Fact.

right? they only introduced it in 2017 and now they may be getting rid of it.
Why doesn’t Apple hire you?Geez. Just make the phone a tiny bit thicker and lose the bump. Added bonus: more room for battery!
I have an insight: it’s not going to be named XI. They’ll be named 11, 11 Max, 11R.Some sites have been referring to this 2019 device as the iPhone XI or iPhone 11, but we don't have any insight into Apple's naming plans at this time.
A triangle is better from a computational photography perspective, as each pair of lenses is as close together as possible, reducing problems due to perspective.
So, for example, when using pixel information from one to increase light sensitivity for another, you get better results.

Give me a break. Apple is doing very well and design isn’t their problem. Go over to the Samsung thread. He makes entirely too much sense to work for Apple these days.
I don’t think you would have predicted phone camera pics would be as good as they are. Many pics are comparable to DSLR.it's a phone for crying out loud. it will never match a dslr, so maybe focusing on the battery and some other features that are lacking, might be a good idea.
I've seen several posters coming up with similar theories to justify that camera square. None of those theories seemed to have any verifiable science behind them. Not any that I can find anyway. Where are you guys getting these theories? To be fair, you may be 100% right. It just doesn't seem to be valid because multiple OEM's are doing computational photography without that lens configuration. Heck Apple is doing computational photography without that lens configuration.A triangle is better from a computational photography perspective, as each pair of lenses is as close together as possible, reducing problems due to perspective.

iPhone XF (extra fugly)iPhone XSS
it's so ugly it's clearly fake.

Maybe in a few years we will get four cameras in a square on each corner of the phone which can act like feet for stability.I remember when we were young, innocent, and complaining about the iPhone 6's camera bump…
