As much as we hate this camera set up on the “R” model and the supposed leaked camera on the iPhone XI, this will stand out and everyone will know this is an iPhone. I think that’s what Apple is trying to achieve.

Exactly. More specifically, the new iPhone, 2019 version. Having the bump look like the XS or X dual set up is “old design” the way the antenna bands on the 6s was “old design” when the 7 came out. Despite the phones more or less looking the same.

So, if current XR users waited one more year, they would have gotten an even better camera.

Yes, but can’t you say that about any iPhone, any year?

This is fake as hell and has ZERO chances of becoming reality.
Apple already has a smaller and more beautiful design for 2 cameras + 1 flash in the current phones.

Has OnLeaks been fake as hell and zero chance of posting realistic iPhone designs this time of the year?

He usually gets renders right. He was right about AirPods gen 2. iPad mini 5. iPad Pro 2018 redesign. IPhone XR. IPhone X. iPad Pro 10.5”. IPhone 7 and 7 plus....In addition to all the many, many android devices he’s correctly leaked the design of based off cad renderings.
He doesn’t get the colours or names right all the time but he does get how they look right. The design right.

Is it ugly? Yes I agree it is...not the prettiest thing to look at. Is it fake as hell and zero chance of being real? Well, just don’t be too shocked if it’s real. Now a days, these cad renderings are accurate 99 times out of 100. It’s just the nature of living in 2019 where supply chain information can leak a million different ways. Considering apple works on 3 generations of iPhones at a time, in various phases of r&d and conception, and the supply chain contracts and parts that need to be organized, manufactured, perfected and tested so there aren’t unforeseen issues when mass production begins...these are pretty accurate this time of the year.

Cindy Crawford should sue.

I would go with Wall-E Crawford
Looks like it could be a character from Machinarium

Why would the tri camera provide more depth?.

I guess my rebuttal question, why wouldn’t it provide more depth? If you have the cameras separated away from each other, that allows for greater field of rendering, which is likely what I’m going to believe Apple Will introduce with the VR capabilities in the fall.

How about something revolutionary... No camera bump at all? Is that such a foreign concept to Apple these days?

Reading through the comments I’m perplexed on just exactly what part hardware wise Apple is falling behind on? The only hardware recently released that is neat tech not on the iPhone are triple lens setups, which we know are coming, and in-display fingerprint sensor. Neither are revolutionary. Sure there are some areas iOS could catch up on, but it has its own advantages too. I’m just not seeing how Apple is falling behind on iPhone hardware.

Am I the only person who never looks at the back of their phone?
As long as it doesn’t have a picture of Hitler on it I’m pretty sure it will be fine.

I hope they also move the connector to the back (like with the Apple mouse). Would match this "beautiful" design render.

How is this Render any different to EverythingApple ones'?

I am much more interested in their pricing and strategy this coming 2019 lineup. Would it be the simple and boring

$1099 iPhone S Max, A13 Tri Camera
$999. iPhone S

$749 iPhone R, A13 Dual Camera

$599 iPhone 8 Plus
$499. iPhone 8

Or do they have something up their sleeves?
The rumored XE perhaps.

Is Apple going to keep the previous Xr around, or just keep the iPhone 8 around a few more years? Apple seems bent on pushing people towards the most expensive options. I think Apple needs to have a few lower cost options.

Interesting thought on keeping previous Xr around. So Xr for $649? I doubt that would work though.

The iPhone 8 is still a pretty damn decent phone. There wouldn't be any non-Apple Smartphone that is close to its CPU performance, especially in Single Core. The problem is its design look dated.

The rumored XE perhaps.

I wish that was true. But again, Face ID will require some significant changes in layout or improvement for the Notch to be fitted in its size *while* retaining enough space for Signals and battery indicator. As far as I can tell, not happening this year.

I simply cannot believe what they are doing to iPhone. They are kicking Steve Jobs' heritage with their feet.

It's called courage.

Get the LCD PPI back up to what it was in the plus series and I might actually get a new iPhone to replace my plus. Otherwise meh.

Thats another year i'll hang onto my 7s and my wife will keep here 6s.

2020 is the year for 5G phones. Lets hope apple refine these designs and bring the price down from the ludicrous £1000+ GBP mark!

hahahahaha, come on, seriously? i am naive too, but you top me - tim hollywood knows only one direction!

The glass back on the iPhone 4 made it thicker than necessary. To me, the pinnacle of design was the iPhone 5 with the chamfered edges.

nope the 4s was the best ever made in any regard. easy repairable - easy replaceable back, easy openabele - and so on - the 5 was already done with the wrong thinging - although the edges looked nice indeed

It looks as shocked as I am.

Lmao awesome!! It even looks like an emoji theme.

Is Jony Ive even contributing to design at Apple anymore or has that all been taken over by his assistants?

Oh he’s still contributing. After his flirtation with Animoji on the X with poo face, he’s now designing Animoji directly into iPhone design.

In partnership with Pricebaba.com, @Onleaks today released a series of high-quality renders of the next-generation iPhone XR expected to launch this coming September. The renders are based on rumors and alleged leaks regarding the device's outward design.

iPhone-XR-2019_5K_2-800x491.jpg

The iPhone XR successor depicted in the renders could easily be mistaken for last year's iPhone XR, if it wasn't for the addition of the dual-lens cameras, arranged vertically with the LED flash on the right and housed in a large square bump.

According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the 6.1-inch iPhone XR successor is said to feature a dual-lens rear camera setup rather than a triple-lens setup, which will be exclusive to the next-generation iPhone XS and XS Max models.

Renders of the latter 2019 devices have included a square bump housing the three lenses, but this is the first time we've seen the same controversial housing for the upcoming dual-lens iPhone XR. All three of the front-facing cameras in the 2019 iPhones are expected to be 12 megapixels, up from 7 megapixels in the 2018 models.

While some rumors suggest Apple may go with an all OLED lineup, doing away with the LCD displays of the iPhone XR, other rumors believe Apple will stick with its Liquid Retina LCD display because of the high price of OLED displays.

All 2019 iPhones are likely to adopt upgraded A13 chips from TSMC, Apple's chip supplier. The A13, like all chip upgrades, should bring performance and efficiency improvements.

As for dimensions, OnLeaks suggests the iPhone XR 2019 will measure 150.9 x 76.1 x 7.8mm, with the camera bump being the thickest point, at 8.5mm.

Rumors suggest Apple is planning to make changes to the front-facing TrueDepth Camera System that enables Face ID in the 2019 iPhones. Kuo believes 2019 iPhones will feature a new flood illuminator that will improve Face ID by lowering the impact of the invisible light from the environment.

Despite some rumors suggesting a smaller notch or no notch at all, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes there will be no change to the size of the notch in the 2019 iPhone lineup.

The iPhone XR was Apple's best-selling iPhone in 2018, accounting for an estimated 32 percent of U.S. iPhone sales, according to sales data by Consumer Intelligence Research Partners. Comparatively, the iPhone XS and XS Max, Apple's more expensive iPhones, were responsible for 35 percent of sales combined.

Apple is expected to unveil its new 2019 iPhone lineup in September, likely launching the phones in the weeks following the announcements.

Can this thing get FullHD already? Dual camera are nice but FullHD is a must. The year is 2019 not 2009.

stop buying all these miner changes phones .. waste of money ..

wait for total new design

apple is running out of ideas... camera bump, cpu pump ... come on lol

No No No No to that hideous notch. When will it finally go away? I can't believe Apple hasn't figured out that there are millions of us 6,7 and 8 users that will NEVER buy a phone with a notch.

It’s the the iPhone x was the best selling phone globally in 2018. The iPhone X has a notch, so....

Seems like plenty of iPhones 6-7 owners are upgrading, notch and all.
