One big flaw here. Nothing there is centered. I just wish this is true (but with centered 'MacBook' and Apple logo)

Thin 'wedge' case
Rounded edges
Black keyboard (option for silver or white....)
LED screen
and so on....

And maybe speakers on the side of the keyboard :D

I see perforations on both side of the iSight. If these pictures are real, then that means, as in the MacBook Air, one of the perforations is for the microphone and the other for the light sensor. A light sensor almost definitely means a backlit keyboard!

it's hard to tell if these are shopped or not. . i'm usually pretty good at spotting photoshopped pictures. i like my macbook right now. i like the white and black option. if all they update are the cosmetic sides, i won't feel bad getting my macbook in august instead of september.

If :apple: is in fact going aluminum for the MB please give me a anodized black model! For that matter a variety of anodized colors ala ipod nano/shuffle to satisfy everyone.

I was just thinking about this. What if they came out with an anodized black MacBook pro with black. That would be hot. But I would be concerned about it fading in the sunlight over time. I'm not sure how those color ipods held up , but i know a lot of anodized aluminum bike parts fade.

I don't understand why the Apple logo is not centered on the shell, it doesn't make any sense. I'm quite disapointed to hear that now the MacBooks have been pushed back to a late September release. I hope that rumour turns out to be wrong. :)

I may hold off until this time, I really don't think I will be dying without a laptop at University in my first few weeks. I'll see how long I can wait before I end up crumbling and purchasing a MacBook.

Having a couple of colours for MacBooks is very well possible, even though I don't see it coming I believe the iBook G3 models were available in multiple colours. I'd prefer a black one in that case. :p

No, I mean that the entire, physical frame of the screen is BENT. Look at any pictures other than Apple's. The screen cases themselves are bent.

I'm looking at a mac right now that isn't bent. I've never seen one where the screen was bent. If the screen was bent the laptop wouldn't close flush.

Would the LCDs even work correctly if the screens were curved?

and Why would apple's pictures be inaccurate ...?

Underwhelming if plastic

Can you imagine how much of a thud the announcement would land with if the new MacBook line were not upgraded to aluminum? That would negatively trump any other positive news spinning out of Cupertino, I do believe. Having waited on the sidelines for a MacBook (I only have an iMac, circa 2005), I am hopeful that the new MacBook line morphs into an MBA-looking product.

My only other wish were that MacWorld never left Boston. Sadly, the show came to Boston during Apple's weak years and left the city once they got strong.

Release date

Since the iphone 3g was released on a friday is it possible that would be see the new macbooks in august still instead of september

weight: plastic vs. aluminum

all else considered equal, is the aluminum casing on the new units likely to ADD or SUBTRACT weight from the Macbook? Weight is a big consideration for me.

Also, are the new units likely to be thinner? If so, by how much?

Famous response: McDonalds burgers look exactly like their pictures.

The MacBook Pro screens bend up at the ends.

That's a defect in the macbook pro. There are threads on macrumors: forums about it even.

and about the McDonalds thing...that's stupid... can you compare lettuce to metal parts? they sell $3.00 burgers not $2000 computers.

I'm really glad you did this, as I am dying from a the worst flu/cold/monkey virus thingie, and I can not wrap my head around the dimension.

To be fair, someone pointed out I had the left edge incorrect - that there is a piece (of packaging) covering the top of the case.

Photos are a fake!

These photos are a fake. The Apple is facing the wrong way and is not centered on the case. Apple may release an aluminum case macbook, but that is not the case. It would not be wise for Apple to get rid of the white and black plastic. That is their main staple, their calling card. Stay true to form Apple.
