I adjusted the levels in photoshop until you could see the box where they used the heal tool.

Also the bottom line is no where near straight. even if my red line wasn't straight we'd not see white on both sides at the same time.

I'm sad, I really wanted this to be real.

Mean absolutely nothing. Pictures like this taken by a camera a that distance have a high chance of having a slight distortion to them.

Just look at these pictures, it's show how picture can be distorted.

These photos are a fake. The Apple is facing the wrong way and is not centered on the case. Apple may release an aluminum case macbook, but that is not the case. It would not be wise for Apple to get rid of the white and black plastic. That is their main staple, their calling card. Stay true to form Apple.

If you look closely on the upper left corner, you can see there's something (foam or something ) overlapping the case.

I'm really excited about theses pictures. Can't way to get my hand on this Macbook :D

News Flash: NOTHING else that they sell that is GOOD uses plastic as the primary case material. Heck, nothing that they SELL anymore uses plastic as the primary case material.

(Excluding the AirPort Extreme, Time Capsule, and AirPort Express. I'm talking about computing devices here... note the obvious exemption of the iPhone)

ROFL, sounds like you have an awesome argument there, bahah

How about:
Standard 13"(not 13.3 and 16:9 ratio instead of 16:10) Plastic MacBook
$999

13" Aluminium MacBook (Not 13.3 and 16:9 ratio instead of 16:10, also true 12" PowerBook G4 replacement)
$1299

Yeah, I'm with this guy. Maybe it will just replace the current Black MacBook as the higher end MacBook?

But then what's with the black and white plastic iPhones? WTF Apple?

the first picture is a 403 error. and the second would have had to have been taken by a wide angle lens. If it is distortion why isn't the text effected?

all else considered equal, is the aluminum casing on the new units likely to ADD or SUBTRACT weight from the Macbook? Weight is a big consideration for me.

Also, are the new units likely to be thinner? If so, by how much?

Anyone? heheh or are you all too busy drawing lines?

You can't be serious can you? Your looking at the laptop sideways. The laptop is partially covered. I thought this was very clear in the photo.

Hope this one is a better example:

Even if it was not a wide angle lens, you'll still have some distortion at the corners and since the text is less far from the center, it is a lot less affected.

And the text IS affected. Take the pen tool in photoshop and see yourself.

Yeah I do see what you are saying in the far out picture. I see though In the close up text picture that the text is inline but I still see a curve on the bottom. I don't know, so much speculation. I'm still skeptical but who knows.

Dammit, I hate it when people use facts to prove a point....

whys it look like a tablet? Look at the first pic. maby im not just seeing it but you see the screen on the out side.

may be its because it doesnt have the parts in it. its just the case.

I'm really glad you did this, as I am dying from a the worst flu/cold/monkey virus thingie, and I can not wrap my head around the dimension.

There are much better lines, incuding more straight ones with in a program then some crappy paint program

I love this thread simply for all the over analysis of the centering of "MacBook."

some people dont have a life....

erm. the imacs got rid of white, so did the ipods. and who says these are fake? the picture it self isnt facing you its at an angle so its hard to tell for sure.

we dont even know these lines peoeple draw are even real. some may make it look fake because they just want to say it is because they think and want to prove it is so they can be loved by everyone on the forum...

immature if you ask me.

That's a defect in the macbook pro. There are threads on macrumors: forums about it even.

and about the McDonalds thing...that's stupid... can you compare lettuce to metal parts? they sell $3.00 burgers not $2000 computers.

the curved lids are not a defect with macbook pros, they are simply a characteristic of aluminum. it bends and if these images are real, then we will also start to see people complaining about warped lids of macbooks too. for the record, i think the warped image is due to the lense of the camera more than anything else.

They wont do a 16:9 MacBook, 16:10 seems to be the standard for any laptop now. I also doubt very much on the 2 options for cases but I do think the prices are spot on.

well aluminum weighs less than plastic, for the amount needed.

Sorry I should have put in a smilie for sarcasm, it just seems as though someone post an image and every forum user has a forensic degree in computer graphics analysis.

For the record I used to do image analysis but from the quality of the images both points of being a fake and real can be proven under different circumstances.

IMHO we will seem an update soon, although with the images provide I think a metal Macbook would fit into the Apple line nicely I'm not sure what we will see update wise.

Not long ago Apple's main staple was white. Today we have aluminum and black notebooks coming out of Apple.

Apple is staying true to form by showing change. We can always expect Apple to change the rules and take the product to the next level. :)

I think the photos may be fake, but the real MacBooks will be very similiar.
