Once again, and probably until someone actually gets a real one in their hand, there's no mention or mock up render of a X plus next to an 8 Plus. That's the elephant in the room and really the only spec anyone wants to know. How big is it in comparison? What's the width?
If it's an X screen in a conventional plus sized chassis- that would be ideal.

If the leaks are correct, the X Plus would be a bit smaller, not much though.

iPhone 8 Plus - 158.4 x 78.1 x 7.5 mm (6.28 x 3.07 x 0.32 in)
iPhone X Plus - 157.5 x 77.4 x 7.68 mm

more of the same. nothing much changes in the iphone world. my 6s continues to live a long and fruitful life.

Which will never happen

No such thing as a phone that will ever be suitable to certinaly use caseless

Fail to see how it’s a boring design either considering how the 8 and 8 plus look.
It is a boring design because it's the same as before. Just a boring square, shiny slab. The only hope Apple has is that old phones will lose their sheen through micro scratches, cracked screens, ugly cases and battery issues. Of course all of that was baked into the design in the first place.

As for caseless phones, over at Android there are heaps of phones that are fine caseless, and likely the next generation with the shatterproof screen design we'll be there with flagship Samsungs.

Want to have an X, but as wide as the current Plus model.
If you leave Apple, she will become your X forever ;)

It’s a phone what kind of design are you expecting exactly? A slab of glass is the future to have a smaller body in a bigger screen.

And obviously some will use cases for phones but they are still too slippery more often than not...and yes unbreakable screens are possible but it’s hard to believe they will ever truely be unbreakable.

Do we know the exact dimensions of the screen width X Plus vs. 8 Plus? I don't remember seeing those numbers.

I just did a quick best guessing. Assuming the bezel of the X Plus is going to be the same as the X, then the screen width should be about 70 mm (7 cm). I don't have a 8 Plus and can't measure the screen width, maybe someone else can provide this information.
The width of the 8 Plus display can be worked out by dividing the 1080 pixel width by the 401 ppi for a 2.70” width, about 68.6 mm.

I figured out the dimensions in Jan when Kuo first rumored the 6.5” X Plus. I’ll try to find them.

Please release a SE2 with the exact same "classic" form factor. Just update the guts and camera. Thanks in advance Apple....I know you will not disappoint. :apple:

I hope the width will be larger than the 8 plus this is what I hate about the x the small width

Call it peak iPhone, but I fail to get excited about new iPhones. I have stopped at the 6S that has everything I need except it is feeling slower as new versions of IOS and apps come out. It has everything I need. Good fingerprint sensor, good screen, good camera, an audio jack, no notch, NFC, barometer, good GPS with Galileo support, and supports all the LTE bands my cell phone provider has in my area. I will obviously see what comes out in a month or two and re-evaluate, but I might skip this year again, and save some money to use it for other things, like nice food or a trip, not everything in life are phones that are constantly spying on you. There are other human beings around you and other things worth spending our money. Just saying. This is from someone who loves his iPhone and has had several iPhones starting from the first one.

Don't see why all the fan fair for a smaller iPhone? It's suppose to be Apple's poor man phone why the demand for a faster model? What are you all really missing out on? Expecting to get more by paying less?

I want a bigger viewing area but I will say that I hope this is as large as they get unless Apple invents a folding phone.

That would mean, the X Plus screen is a little over 1 mm wider than the 8 Plus and of course quite a bit longer.

BTW, I mentioned the X because the aspect ratio is what seems to bother quite a few people, including me. The screen width of the X Plus would be comparable to the entire width of the current X.

The screen width of the X is about 63 mm and the screen of the X Plus would be about 10% wider.

Well apart from the newly developed (reputedly) unbreakable Samsung screen which will likely debut early next year

Bah, the 6.1" at anything north of $699 considering it's gutted implementation will be a joke. The iPhone X Gen 2 will drive Face ID lover sales. The 6.5" will be a nitch device for those with have to have the biggest and most expensive (nothing wrong with that) huge margins with mediocre numbers. I don't see 8/8+ sales slowing down at all. :apple:

I like the size, the headphone jack, and home button. You don't? Then don't buy it.

Maybe you should start looking for these things at your nearest Renaissance fair.

The last Renaissance Faire I went to did not have cellular smartphones. It did have circular saw blades with painted scenes on them however, so maybe in your area "Ye Olde SmartPhone" are more the rage.
