Once again, and probably until someone actually gets a real one in their hand, there's no mention or mock up render of a X plus next to an 8 Plus. That's the elephant in the room and really the only spec anyone wants to know. How big is it in comparison? What's the width?
If it's an X screen in a conventional plus sized chassis- that would be ideal.

What about the headphone jack?Who's "we"?
Even LG has done market research and concluded that nobody cares about the notch, except a vocal minority.
Sorry Apple, no more money for you this year.
It is a boring design because it's the same as before. Just a boring square, shiny slab. The only hope Apple has is that old phones will lose their sheen through micro scratches, cracked screens, ugly cases and battery issues. Of course all of that was baked into the design in the first place.Which will never happen
No such thing as a phone that will ever be suitable to certinaly use caseless
Fail to see how it’s a boring design either considering how the 8 and 8 plus look.
If you leave Apple, she will become your X foreverWant to have an X, but as wide as the current Plus model.
It’s a phone what kind of design are you expecting exactly? A slab of glass is the future to have a smaller body in a bigger screen. It is a boring design because it's the same as before. As for caseless phones, over at Android there are heaps of phones that are fine caseless, and likely the next generation with the shatterproof screen design we'll be there with flagship Samsungs.
The width of the 8 Plus display can be worked out by dividing the 1080 pixel width by the 401 ppi for a 2.70” width, about 68.6 mm.Do we know the exact dimensions of the screen width X Plus vs. 8 Plus? I don't remember seeing those numbers.
I just did a quick best guessing. Assuming the bezel of the X Plus is going to be the same as the X, then the screen width should be about 70 mm (7 cm). I don't have a 8 Plus and can't measure the screen width, maybe someone else can provide this information.
I remember when this comment was made for the first time. I'm that old.
yeah we don't need taller we need more widthHmmm, the 6.5” is looking a little skinny there...
Don't see why all the fan fair for a smaller iPhone? It's suppose to be Apple's poor man phone why the demand for a faster model? What are you all really missing out on? Expecting to get more by paying less? Please release a SE2 with the exact same "classic" form factor. Just update the guts and camera. Thanks in advance Apple....I know you will not disappoint.![]()

I figured out the dimensions in Jan when Kuo first rumored the 6.5” X Plus. I’ll try to find them.

Well yeah have to see to believe that one.Well apart from the newly developed (reputedly) unbreakable Samsung screen which will likely debut early next year

I want a bigger viewing area but I will say that I hope this is as large as they get unless Apple invents a folding phone.
