Since the iPhone X was so far ahead of the competition I think I’ll skip upgrading this year. The new one better have some serious innovations for someone to want to upgrade from it. I mean, where do we go from here? A small speed boost, whoop de do. A better camera, like it’s really needed. More RAM, does it make a difference? More storage, ok I see value here. Bigger screen, seriously I want a handheld phone, not a phablet. Better battery life, eh, buying external battery is cheaper. Phones are finally catching up to the home PC problem, we’ve basically reached peak.

You are correct. We've reached the mature stage of the Smartphone Product Life Cycle. This why Apple, Samsung and other phone manufacturers don't release fantastic new features every year.

So in order for me to continue my quest for the smallest iPhone, I have to settle for a feature reduced one? Dammit Apple. The iPhone4 was the most iconic, USEFUL, single hand PHONE design ever! Get me a model closer to that! Especially if I have to settle for less "tech" wise in it.

I've used my X since I got it last year caseless. No issues.

I got the lowest profile yet still protective case plus a matte screen protector as I don't need to be looking in to a mirror when I use my phone. I probably drop my phone once a month average. Now would I drop it as much or at all if I didn't have one? Five cracked screens over the last three years tells me, yes.

Have any cases started popping up online yet? There were always cases leaked around this time of year, previously. Surprised to see there are none yet so far, we already have the dummy models and "official" dimensions.

Ha
Anytime someone leaks pics and they put there name all over the pics most likely are not the real pics Ha

It’s like look at me Apple I got the real pics leaked before Sept and they got my name of them so there!! Ha

I really hope the prices are correct. That will mean I can upgrade to the new phone AND lower what I pay per month if I get the same size phone as I have now (iPhone X)

There is obviously no market for a baby iPhone, thats why they haven't released a new one.

Funny I’m reverse thinking I’m trading my 8 plus, I’m going for the X this year

I came from a plus before the X, and I'm super happy with it. I don't think I would go for an X plus. I think it's a pretty ideal size. In fact, unless the camera upgrade was spectacular, it's hard to see what would compel X buyers (unless they wanted a larger screen) hardware wise, to upgrade this year.

I don't think storage will change. They'll put in a better processor, but it won't be a drastic jump. The design, screen, etc will all be the same.

But I could be wrong. Let's see.

An ipad, however I will get.

NO, no, no no, no!!! We do not want another "X" based looking phone. Apple needs to update the 8 Plus, keep the home button and add the freaking headphone jack back. Life without the notch is so much better.

I know a lot of people don’t like the notch, but I actually like it. It gives the iPhone a distinct look. Sorry but no thanks for huge bezels and keeping the same design as 6,6s,7,8. It doesn’t make sense for Apple to keep the same design. Phones are moving to little to no bezel, screen sizes are growing and phones are getting thinner. Technology is changing rapidly. So I guess we better hope for the best which Apple usually gives. But we’re selfish and never happy anyways.

No, it's not. I also had a JB 7 Plus before moving to the X, it feels completely different, slippery and very difficult to use caseless.

You must have very oily hands then.

Had the phone since launch day. Don’t even noticed the notch.

It's not.

I use all my iPhones caseless.

Since the iPhone 6 and up I feel the need to have the grip of the Apple case (works and feels great compared to aftermarket ones)... the surface seems to be a lot more smooth. iPhone X now even more.
My personal case.

Such a boring and tired design. It's a lifeless slab of glass. Which isn't even easy to grip. Need a design that you don't need to put a case on it just to hold the thing.

Another one more year of same design(form factor) until we see lots of trendy stuff and new challengers (may be surface slab) which Apple might take and adopt in their own ways very slowly one after the other. Apple never attempted revolutionary in outward design. Last switch happened in iPhone 6. Even I Phone X except for the notch everything looks more or less same. This is there case with most of the leading OEMs.

Not to mention that speeds are already up there with not so old 13 inch laptops, at least before throttling kicks in, which is impressive... so probably enhancements like they did with the iPhone 6, where they started to keep throttling to a minimum, i.e Thermal management and dissipation technology to be able to have all that power kicking uninterrupted for as long as possible.

For some reason, I was under the impression that the 6.1” iPhone would have an aluminum body similar to the iPhone 7 (and 6s, and 6, and respective Plus sized iPhones). If it’s just the outer band and we’re still dealing with glass-on-glass, then I am substantially less excited about this phone and way less eager for it to supplant my 7 Plus.

In terms of its actual size in your pocket, would the 6.5 be larger than the 8 Plus? Because the 8 Plus is okay (just barely) but I definitely wouldn’t want to go any larger.
What I understand is that the 6.5 will be a tad shorter and a tad less wide than the 8 plus but I wouldn’t mind if the opposite was true.

Not me. Bigger. BIGGER! I'd be fine with a 7" phone if it was bezel-free to be honest.
Lol I’m with you man! Bring on the iPhone Xs Plus!
