7.4mm will be about the same as the 5s/ SE (7.6mm) which seem to be the main inspiration for this generation of phone. I'm not sure if the square edged design is exclusive to the pros (with the regular 12 models keeping the X like design) but if all 4 models look like this schematic, then the smallest 5.4" will probably be as close to that all-screen SE concept we will get, while also being a bit smaller than the iPhone 8 or new SE.

These phones look really good. I hope they continue to offer LCD panels in the non-Pro versions. Their PWM implementation for the OLED panels makes those phones unusable for people with sensitive eyes. Quite frustrating.

I’ve been hoping for thin and lighter. Holding the iPhone X for a while can make my hand and wrist sore. So I’m glad to see Apple must be miniaturizing the components. My favorite phones have been the 5 and X...the two phones I had longest. This combines them, and I love it. I don’t care about the top of the line cameras. I don’t need crazy battery life because I can always do a quick charge at work or in my car.

Those lenses are too big. I thought the 11's were even too big. Wish they would shrink them or just take away the lens bezel.
I don't mind the size. honestly they can do whatever they want with the camera size for me as long as it keeps improving the picture the appearance doesn't matter much. I didn't mind my point and shoot cameras that had huge lenses but this is a phone I know. We don't stare at the back of our phones anyway much.

This is what I want. It looks great. Might struggle to afford it but it is going to be very hard to resist!!

I imagine they will be holding the line on pricing, or trying to figure out how to slightly decrease with how the economy might be doing by then. I expect the new SE to be a big hit for the timing and price.

YouTube channel EverythingApplePro and Max Weinbach have shared what they're claiming is a sneak peek of Apple's hitherto unreleased "iPhone 12 Pro Max," based on alleged leaked CAD designs.

The key thing about the CADs is they line up with rumors suggesting that Apple's new iPhone will take many design cues from the iPad Pro. The schematics show a squared-edged stainless steel frame between two pieces of glass, replacing the rounded stainless steel frame of the iPhone 11 series.

In order to house the bigger 6.7-inch OLED screen, the device will be slightly wider and taller, and the bezels have been shaved to an impressive 1.55mm, compared to 2.52mm on the 6.5-inch iPhone 11 Pro Max.

They also mirror rumors that the new iPhone 12 Pro Max will have a thickness of 7.4mm, which would be quite a bit thinner than the 8.1mm thick iPhone 11 Pro Max. However, the camera bump is said to be slightly thicker, 1.26mm rather than 1.21mm, although the cameras themselves don't protrude as much.

One oddity in the designs is that the size of the notch is the same as the one found on Apple's current iPhone lineup. Previous rumors suggest Apple has designed a smaller notch, although Weinbach claims that these details weren't finalized when the CAD was made, which is a genuine possibility.

Other key takeaways from the video:
  • Fourth camera sensor for the LiDAR Scanner.
  • Slightly increased diameter of camera lenses.
  • Thicker antenna lines on sides of handset for 5G.
  • SIM card tray relocated to other side of device.
  • Smart Connector-esque input where SIM card try used to be.
  • One less speaker hole on right side speaker grille.
  • 10 to 15 percent louder speakers.
Power button sits slightly lower on device.
New colors could include light blue, violet, and light orange.
Weinbach has accurately revealed a new iPhone color in the past, and has previously claimed that the iPhone 12 in Navy Blue could replace the Midnight Green finish available for iPhone 11 Pro models.

Weinbach also accurately predicted that the volume HUD would become less obtrusive in iOS 13, but he has also shared several Apple-related rumors that did not pan out, including the iPad getting a native Calculator app in iOS 13 and the HomePod launching in Austria and Italy within 2019. Weinbach has a more established track record with Android-related rumors, but this could be set to change.

Apple is expected to offer four iPhones in three different sizes this year: A 5.4-inch iPhone, a 6.7-inch iPhone, and two 6.1-inch iPhones. One 6.1-inch model and the 6.7-inch model will be higher-end iPhones, while the other 6.1-inch iPhone and the 5.4-inch iPhone will be lower-end models and successors to the iPhone 11.

This thing is totally gorgeous. My favourite design was the black iPhone 5, and this gets very close. Bring on September.

I am curious to see if the regular 12 will have a high refreshed display. I don't think it will even crack 1080p w/ an OLED, but I could be wrong w/ the 5.4" display. Is there any use to a 720p display w/ 90-120 Hz? Could be a battery hog on such a smaller screen?

I had no issues with sales and did well for years. I was simply ethical and did't force people into purchases and ultimately let them choose.

Go ask your mum or grandfather (which is most customers as younger people usually buy online) what iPhone they want and what they use it for, and what their budget is and it can become a bit fo challenge when you have 6 options.

they care all about the budget, they dont even care about face id or ultrawide or whatsoever

so the cheapest iPhone is what they get, they will be getting the iPhone SE, since both of them were using the iPhone6s and it is very slow and even have the battery replaced, and it was bought at $449 the cheapest years ago, so the $399 is the obvious and easy buy no confusion on that

Honestly - it's totally ugly. But finally we get a Iphone 5 Plus w/ notch... If they could use at least the Iphone 4 design - with stainless steel frame for example...
Think about usage, round edges are always better. The camera ist still half way outside of the chassis. No USB-C. If it would be a Android, no one would pay that much money for it.

It’s more like the 4 than the 5 though. The sides are stainless steel and the back is all glass

Yeah the SE or older models do well in that market but then you get the ones who want a better camerathat only newer models offer etc.

Then there’s plan pricing and usage and it can become a labyrinth of options, where you’re trying to find the best value.

Thankful I’ve move to other parts of the company now to mostly avoid it.

I’ll definitely upgrade if the stainless flat band design is implemented. The 4 / 4s was my favorite iPhone design and I think having the glass go back to flat 2D panels will make this iPhone seem more modern / masculine. That’s how I feel every time I look at and hold my iPad Pro.

It would be great if Apple would do the same with the Watch, or at least make it a separate model with the flat sided design (stainless model).

Nice move. Well considered buy, I have wishing on other post about prefer more boxy iPhones rather than rounded soap like enclosure.

If this rumor is true and they finally start making iPhones thin again then I'm in. I'm not a fan of huge and heavy phones. If they do have a 5.4 inch phone that's thin they will have my money. I've been hanging on to my iPhone 7 because it's the thinnest and lightest phone for the screen size.

I like EverythingApplePro, but he has a new video pretty much every week proclaiming that the new iPhone will have this or that, or look like this or that render, when he actually has no idea and is going off the same "leaks" as everyone else.

Looks like a nice upgrade. Disappointed that the lightning port is staying, maybe next year though. If this has 120hz, i'm sold.
