Exactly, it's a two way street, like with the Mac vs PC campaign—when somewhat ironically—they're now guilty of doing several of the talking points themselves. 🤣Samsung mocking Apple is all part of marketing and business competition. Apple came up with an ad saying how the screen size of the iPhone 5 was perfect for the thumb’s reach dissing big Samsung phones. Not sure why anyone is surprised. And yes, Samsung will always do what Apple does.
Top comment on the post where Samsung mocked Apple for this from October.

Their own marketing team use iPhones. So no such thing as shame. Are they not embarrassed about this, or do they think people just won't notice.
Like with the new environmentally friendly push, or the unbundled charger?Samsung keeps innovation in their core.
I know this is a minority opinion in the world today, but to some of us, integrity matters.I don’t understand the MR shoulder chip on this several articles later. What Samsung did was called marketing 101. Served its purpose at the time, now they’re moving on. No one cares about they reversed course a year later. Companies do this all the time. How long did Apple complain about big screens and then release big phones anyway?
That's a lot mental gymnastics, there. Lots of reporters have criticized Apple for not including a charger, but you conveniently ignore that so you can make your argument that "Samsung had no choice."Obviously people in here do not understand how things work in the consumer business world. One company makes a change that is seen to benifit the environment. This move is applauded around the world from tech groups to environmental groups. Now, when competitors bring out their products, critics and reviewers will be making comments about the companies environmental credentials and thus will start comparing the one company that made changes to benifit the environment against competitiors who havent made the change. This will then get picked up by the main stream media and before you know it, the competitiors are derided in the press for not being environmental enough which has a knock on effect of the public thinking twice about buying the product.
Regardless of what samsung has said about Apple, Apple removing the charger will force all the other phone manufacturers to do the same because the media will put pressure to bear down on them to do so with articles like 'Apple has has made the change, why haven't you? Do you not consider the protection of the environment important enough?'
Yes this is an Apple forum so naturally everything is biased towards Apple so naturally people will be having a pop at Samsung calling them hypocrites but in this regards Samsung is anything but.
People that care about this won't buy a Samsung anyway, and those that like Samsung won't care about this. It just fortifies the wall between the two groups. Are they not embarrassed about this, or do they think people just won't notice.
The funniest thing about this is the only people that care Samsung made fun of no charger are people on these forums. 99% of consumers don't care and don't know. Their social media post will not affect people's purchase decisions anyway. Apple got negative press at the time- and that gives Samsung a pass to do it with less negativity.
Samsung probably is happy Apple did it so they can cut costs as well. Samsung gets a free ride here to cost savings.
Who wins here? Apple and Samsung.
Who loses? Consumers.

Interesting how Samsung includes an ejection pin. Apple includes a SIM removal tool.
That's marketing 101. Name your stuff what it does, not what it is. (granted Apple is lately horrid with naming, thankfully this name came from years ago when Apple was good at naming.)
So you're asking why should anyone have pride about their work?Who is "they" and why would "they" be embarrassed? Samsung is a bunch of people who get paid to show up to work each day, who likely couldn't care less about anything beyond their paycheck.
Exactly. The Pencil is not a stylus, nor is it even available to use for the iPhone.I only disagree with the stylus part here. The Pencil is NOT the same thing Steve was referring to (a device that NECESSITATED a stylus as a means of interaction).
I've ignored nothing. Apple was not criticized for it's environmental stance on not including a charger, Apple was being criticized by reporters because of the issue of what happens if a customer who does not have any other Apple products purchases an iphone for the first time, they are forced to buy a charger. Apple took the stance that it would be exisiting Apple owners who already have the correct charger that would be getting the new iphones, thus a charger not being required. THIS is what reporters were critizing Apple about. That's a lot mental gymnastics, there. Lots of reporters have criticized Apple for not including a charger, but you conveniently ignore that so you can make your argument that "Samsung had no choice."
Quoting Picasso and expecting people to "get it" (including people whose agenda doesn't allow them to "get it") seems to show some unjustified hope in human competence.Does that make them not merely good, but great artists?![]()
It's totally legitimate if a competitor does something and you think it is a good idea to then copy it. It's still legitimate to not tell the public that you copied someone, but just to say "look at this excellent thing we are now doing". But first attacking the other company and then copying requires saying sorry about the attack.People look at this and say Samsung is a copycat.
In the larger picture, it's called competition. All competitive companies will copy one another, sometimes down to the last detail, or whatever they can copy legally.
But will they shatter on impact? I wonder what their blast radius will be? 🤔Mark my words: the Samsung Max over-ear headphones will be dropping shortly.
We need to realize that the majority of device users aren't tech focused individuals. Although a regular person won't know what a SIM is, when their carrier tells them to use the SIM removal tool, at least the name of the purpose is in the name. This is called precision of language. With English as the language that has the most numerous words, PR and marketing companies/ departments should choose the word that makes the most sense and is most useful to the widest audience. So they just need to rename it as "SIM ejection pin" right? are you really this dense?
