Leaked Photo of Next Generation Mac Mini?

At least they have not taken out the Firewire port. But if it had two, it would rock. Since Mac mini is much faster booting from an external 7200 rpm drive than from the slow 5400 rpm drive! Besides, there are much larger 7200 rpm drives (up to 2TB now).

Besides that, Apple should make a QUIET miniTOWER headless Mac. THAT IS THE ONE NEEDED MOST!

Firewire 800 and Firewire 400 peripherals

How does one attach FW400 peripherals to a FW800 connector? It looks different.

2 display ports?

Why would they use two different but equivalent display ports -- one of which is a standard and one that is an apple proprietary. I guess my Powermac has one ADC and one DVI, but they wouldn't do this on a mac mini.

Do any of the Cinema Displays use mini DVI?

My $0.02 --> Two different types of display port = fake!

"buy a PC" , jeez what a lame response.
Buy a PC ?!? what for ? it cannot run OS X legally !..needless to say (or maybe it is?) form factor doesn't really matter all that much, it is a simple fact that the Mini is a reasonably priced machine that runs OS X, ye ye I know the tech is now outdated and overpriced for what it is BUT when it wasn't outdated it was reasonably priced.
"buy a PC" lmao

I said "buy a PC" if you whine so much about the "form factor" being too ****ing small to fit a Core 2 Quad..geez please READ.

Can't they PLEASE make the mini just a little taller so it can have a real hard drive?

I'd totally buy a Mini with a 7,200 rpm 1 TB hard drive. But what's the point of buying a small computer if you have to hook external hard drives up to it? I'd much rather have it be an inch or two taller than do that.

Are you trying to say that you prefer function over aesthetics? ;)

I thought the rumours before MacWorld (or whatever it was) indicated the updated mini would have both DVI and MDP on board.

5 usb + FW800, yes please.

You know these are really easy to fake in Photoshop, as other user have pointed out. It's good fun too. :)

If I remember correctly, before Macworld, that was the rumor. The Mini was supposed to have two display ports, the MiniDVI and MiniDisplay. I don't see anything wrong with having two of them. Maybe the idea is to give people an option for connecting two monitors or something.

It's not that I'm interested in the mini or looking forward to it, it's just that the Ethernet port's reflection on the power connector SCREAMS fake. Period. (I'm not a PS expert either).

In the part I replied to you actually said :
"Well form factor is always a big selling point. If not, buy a PC"

I haven't whined about the form factor at all! , I couldn't give a chuff what the thing looks like ,seriously not one bit am I arsed what it looks like ..it could be in a pink spotty bread bin for all I care as long as the thing runs OS X with reasonably upto date tech inside I'm happy.

Be careful what you you wish for..... ;):D

Seriously though, this is totally fake. There's no way Apple would leave the thing looking as it did when it was first released. And 2GHz, ummm that's what it already runs at. I definitely agree with the person talking about Quad-Core configurations; Apple should be able to build something that can handle it...

Not to sound like a jerk but, after such a long wait I really was expecting a redesign. Something like a cross between a MacMini and an iMac all metal and sexy. But I guess I was wrong... Apple is just slowing down and not meeting my expectations.

What else is new?
