Dunno if it's fake, but that Mini can be connected to almost everything:

Mini-DVI ----------> S-video, Composite (adapter)
Mini-DVI ----------> DVI
Mini-DVI ----------> VGA

Mini-DP -----------> gorgeous Apple Cinema Display
Mini-DP -----------> DVI-Dual Link ---------> 2560x1600 monsters
Mini-DP -----------> DVI
Mini-DP -----------> VGA
Mini-DP -----------> DVI -----------> DVI to HDMI cable ------> FREAKING HDMI :rolleyes: (you only lose audio)

And in the future (Display Port 1.2) maybe:

Mini-DP ----------> big DISPLAY PORT (the real friggin' STANDARD for future COMPUTER MONITORS, not HDMI! Hdmi is for tv set!!)

The original leaker also claimed the following specs:

- Intel Core 2 Duo
- 2GHz
- 3MB L2 cache
- 2GB RAM DDR III, 1066MHz
- Super Drive is SATA

I would have to disagree with only having 2.0GHz.

The cheapest model of the current iMac has a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, and they are getting ready to upgrade it. The current Mac Mini has a 2.0GHz processor. Why would Apple use the same processor speed after this long period of time that the Mac Mini hasn't been upgraded.

The amount of Memory though is perfect. And I'm glad to see that it will probably have DDR3 instead of DDR2.

I have a 2.33 ghz chip in mine and the thing overheats on video encoding and shuts down. It doesn't look like much has changed on the mini so it might be safe to say the cooling is the same. If so 2.0 Ghz might be the best they can shoehorn in there!

Hi Mike & LT!

There is another option for 15 USB ports!!!!!

Its pretty easy to change the category....right click and then in the info tab select the genre.

That works in itunes but not in frontrow. In frontrow you can only sort by genre if you have an appleTV otherwise all that nice organization that you did in itunes will not work. It doesn't make any sense that this simple feature is not implemented correctly.

Interesting. I have a 2.33CD in mine, and it's rated at the same wattage as the 1.83 that came in it, and it runs the same temperature, and never has a problem with heat.

I think your particular setup has a problem. A 2.33 is no problem for the Mini.

15 USB devices may require a lot of power, so the external PSU will have to be pretty beefy (200+ watts).

IMHO, I'd rather have six USB ports, then a slot for a ExpressCard that allows for some expandibility. However, this might raise the price of the Mini too high.

Are you sure that it's five USB ports? :confused: I think it's four, that other one looks funny. :confused:

Maybe it's HDMI? :eek:

My 1.66 at work did that. Faulty wiring or something, didn't ramp the fan up properly. I could get it to shutdown with 100% reliability by using two copies of Chess.app - each running an AI vs AI game on the hardest settings. It was replaced. Second model has worked perfectly for 2.5+ years now.

Fake!

The perspective is all wrong for the power cord and the shadows displayed at various parts of this image make it a fake. Unless.. the power cord is not fully plugged in and is loose, itself at an angle.

Also anyone with enough time to snap one shot, has enough time for two. This is on a hardwood floor. It looks like this may be someone's home, so they would have all the time in the world to take more shots.

I say fake. A wired Mac keyboard as a USB port on it for the mouse, so Apple is giving us 4 extra ports. I think 5 is a waste of time for Apple.

I hope upgrading the HDD or ram is easier on the new box. Screws please, no putty knives.

I'd kind of like an optical out for audio too. I dont suppose there are adapters?

I didn't even read the thread. I just haven't posted here in a while and wanted to point out the fact that this image is fake.

There is no reason for mini-DVI, just... none. That doesn't even make sense. On top of that, Firewire 800? No. Not happening.

These aren't the droids you're looking for. Move along. Move along.

Sorry guys, but my friends at cupertino have informed me that USB is now a bag of hurt and that this is what we will be getting.
