I think the photo is fake as the layout of ports is not beautiful...alignment is quite strange indeed.

White plastic?

Right there it should be obvious that this is a fake. After not updating for 2 years wouldn't it be evident that they would move to a silver + shiny black look to match the unibody portables and the new LED display lineup? Why would they move everything to silver & shiny black and just leave the mini the same old white? Makes no sense.

The base model MacBook is still white, maybe white is the symbol of entry level, black mid-range and alu top spec.

But miniDVI can go backwards to analog standards like VGA. Where DP isn't Backwards compatible with any analog standards not even DVI-A.

So between MiniDP and MiniDVI you have everything covered some twice.

normally, yes, but macbook pros have a problem with their MiniDVI as they don't work pRoperly with a DVI adapter. External monitors like EIZO will display wrong colors and you can't even calibrate it.

The photo is...

...a fake.:p

But perhaps the person who faked the picture really saw one? this gives some room for speculation:)

hmmm

Could be real?

Especially, Apple selling a 2GHz Core 2 Duo in the $600-$800 for over a year and a half.

Hackintosh here I come.

with the miniDisplayport, we'll be able to connect the Apple 20" LED display. Plus, we'll have the iSight camera access.

do you guys think apple's gone bad to the extend that the new macmini will use the same case??
even hp dell are not this bad.

so this is a fake
the new one will be much better

we will see on apr.1st

In the photo there is a wooden floor that would look like the kind you put in your house..... who the hell gets to take these early things home and trusted NOT to post pics all over the net??

can't be - everything barring the white macbook + iPhone 3G is aluminium, including the Mac Mini, and that isn't top spec.

Apple used to do white for the domestic market and aluminium for the pro market - now everything is the same colour scheme-ish shows Apple possibly doesn't distinguish between the two now.

Macbooks Pros have miniDVI? Mine has the full shebang. Sucks for you.

If there was some kind of big step forward I would understand, but almost 2 years for an incremental update! What was Apple doing? The specs make sense, share the low-end MacBook's components to bring down the price, but surely they could've done this a lot sooner. It's also a shame that a 3.5" Hard Drive still hasn't made it in there yet. A 2TB Hard Drive in a mini would be delicious.
