Zooming in that close, everything looks blurry and discolored around the text.

No. Not really. Are you referring to that red mark? Cuz I think that's there to circle the model number and that it's not a discoloration artifact from photoshopping. If you look at the first page, it's there in the zoomed in picture but not in the zoomed out picture.

Apple Ln California LOL

It's Apple In California, and that's exactly how it's written on the back of my iPod touch.

Nope. As someone has already pointed out earlier, it is:

Apple in California Assembled in China

The i's are small not in CAPS.

no i drew in the red lines. look at the black that is in between the lines of text, and then look at the black throughout the rest of the phone, the colour is different because the text was copied and pasted from something else.

No, the off coloring is because of JPEG compression.

If you decided to use the capitalization to point out that this is a fake, that'd make more sense. But the coloring? Seriously?

Actually, in comparing visually here, it looks exactly like if I took a slightly blurred picture and then compressed it as a JPEG. The height of the l in Apple and the i in in is exactly the same, and with the distortion and compression, that gap most likely got lost.

Not saying it's definitely real, but saying that's not enough proof to say it's fake.

It just seems far too early for any prototype cases to already have model numbers on, doesn't it?

Eh, ......looks the same as the other one, just not as shiney. Ill be more impressed with what they do to the inside of it. I still have an original iPhone and saw no reason to go to a 3G.

EDIT*....Well if that is the new one above me then cool.

In response to all the people claiming the photos are of an iPhone 3g case because the dimensions are the same and the screws are in the same exact spots. This is not by mistake... This would save a bunch of money for both apple and consumers. Apple would be able to build the iPhones on the current assembly lines with little to no modification, saving tons of money and allowing the product to be created faster and cheaper, thus making it cheaper for us consumers. Also, when I first got my iPhone 1st gen and later the iPhone 3g came out, it was almost impossible for me to find a case for my phone, and the recessed headphone adapter and such. It also makes the transition from an older iPhone 3g much easier as all your accessories are compatible and the 3rd party manufacturers don't have to revise their products either. I believe that following this approach is much smarter. Not to mention I love the current design and size of the iPhone 3g, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

With the recession hitting alot of companies have to cut corners in order to meet the bottom line. Some are consilodating efforts to deliver products that are revolutionary while at the same time cost effective.

Ladies and Gentlemen... The new iphone and iphone nano.

The iphone will now be offered in brown and white with headset since most cities require hands free talking. Now you can cradle your phone on your shoulder just like the old days...talk about revolutionary. It will incorporate all the good things (and bad) of the Zune with all the good things about the iphone (Sorry -still no copy and paste)

The Iphone nano on the other hand incorporates the latest and greatest in cell phone technology. in order to reduce costs, the Mac OS has been completely removed and revamped with a faux OS in the form of a sticker precision placed over where the screen would be. Apple says that while cutting costs this will also reduce the number of repairs due to faulty operating systems thereby freeing up Geniuses at apple stores to focus on more important needs of the consumer....non-removable macbook pro batteries. The pricing points will also be cheaper as these phones will be offered unlocked for use on any carrier at the low price of $399.00 and will no longer require a data plan with purchase as it no longer has an OS. Neat huh? In addiiton, the battery now lasts a whopping 3 days but you will have to log on to your mobile me account (Don't have one- go to apple.com to get it today) to verify usages and remaining life since the faux screen no longer displays such information.

All this came from Kevin Rose as we watched Brokeback Mountain together with spanish subtitles. He says this is a definite and he was really excited- I could tell.

I can't wait

Is there definatly going to be a new iphone this year???

I am due a new mobile and want to know of to wait to get a new iphone?

i wouldn't be surprised if there's a new iPhone this year. i dig my 3G just fine, and i love the glossy back. an entirely metal back wouldn't make a whole lot of sense because of the antenna. i call fake.

So, is there a definitive answer as to this rumor being a fake? Or maybe other opinions?:confused:

There is never a definitive answer until Apple announces that it is being released "Today"

By "Today" i mean they usually announce it the day they start shipping. :apple:
