What's with the hole in the top? I circled it in red and I don't currently have an iPhone so I can't sit here and study my own.

That is a hole correct?

The image is breaking up badly around the text details but not elsewhere, where its overly smooth/blurry. the image shouldnt do that if its legit. Id call fake.

although i think matte black is far better than gloss black, still prefer the gloss white though.

fake? really? is that all you could come up with?

Looks nice but they better have figured out a way to get better reception if they're going back to aluminum. I'm less concerned about the looks of the phone than its features. I have no doubt that there will be some software goodies but I would like to see video recording, maybe a better camera (The current camera is fine to me. Kinda like that pictures are grainy. Let's you know it was taken on a phone.), and a better battery. A better CPU and GPU are undoubtably a given. I love my 3G but I'll be upgrading on launch day.

Ok, well obviously my pic didn't load correctly or you could see what I'm talking about.

Check the pic with the 'inside' view. Look at what is the top part of the iPhone where the camera is and follow the top edge until you see the other little hole towards the top. What is that?

My dream came true, finally ruberish plastic. I am so buying this :apple: but I hope there is more functionality than this.

Apple come on!

Come on Steve!
You need to make the next iPhone out of CARBON-FIBER!
Light, strong, stylish, sexy & won't block the multiple radio's signals. :)

Plus, wouldn't it be a first for a cell-phone?

I've been thinking about this one for a long time as well. But I could live with one of these rubbery backs just fine. ;)

I really hope it isn't that same matte finish that was on the T-mobile Dash. The phone would heat up and that matte material would just start to peel off.

Matte = FAIL!

Hi

This looks a little dodgy to me

the text on my iPhone and iPHone 3G is

Designed by Apple in California Assembled in China

but here it is...

Designed by Apple In California Assembled In China.

I hope I am wrong but it looks alot like this fake

All the i's are like in the photos. It's most likely due to jpeg compression and the camera used to take the photo.

This makes perfect sense. Apple already has unibody notebooks and Macs...

Why not a unibody iPhone? I believe this is 100% real.

Looks kind of nice, I wouldn't mind a matte finish that was on the black macbook.

It's NOT Aluminum, it's NOT ceramic. It's Plastic people! The milling marks are identical to those on the iPhone 3G

I'm not completely convinced this is the new thing either, could just be a replacement back. I like the matte finish though.

lol!

You guys make me laugh...

Apple brought out a shiny gloss backed iPhone 3G when many smart phones had a better case backing .. ie. TMobile /HTC Dash/S620, RIM's Blackberry etc.

Then a year later they catchup and make a case which is more useful and people think its a brand new and ground breaking.. give me a break..

I absolutely love Apple's iPhone but there is a lot about it that blows... ie. lack of video recording, crap camera, no MMS, low volume ringer etc.

Funny

I just peed my pants a little bit

LOL

Hey you know the matte vs glossy = still smudges like crazy.

They should just go back to aluminum like the new macbooks.

I probably won't trade in my 3G until there's an upgrade discount anyways.

Knowing AT&T (since they subsidized 3G) they won't allow you to upgrade until your 1 year into your contract....you could always add a line but it's a sign of desperation!

They shouldn't upgrade crap this often! Unless it's going to drastically change the phone they should just wait another year!!
