Can’t even see the water spot.

I think you were thinking of my case (which is the same as Jacob’s).

Case just arrived. The leather quality and the feel was immediately obviously different. I’m happy now.

The Apple logo is also better defined on the genuine article.

Wow! It's crazy how right they've got the counterfeit down. The older knock off leather cases were definitely not that close lol.

I think they mastered most of the details but the leather itself is the bulk of the cost of the whole thing so that's the only thing they'd cheap out on--understandably.

Were the buttons metallic on the fake one too? Aluminum?

The buttons all look identical to the genuine one.

Wow big difference there in color. Are the fake ones actual metal or metal looking plastic?

very lightly tap one of those buttons on your front teeth, just barely to see if it’s real metal.

Just received my Product (Red) leather XS case from Verizon for my X and have to say I really like the look... I'm going to swap back and forth with the X black leather case I already have, hopefully it wear just as nicely as the black one. The camera cutout is slightly off due to the change in camera hump between the X and XS but for $10 I couldn't resist!

Overpriced. If you are willing to pay that much you might as well just purchase directly from Apple for the peace of mind.

Meh, to be fair it was designed for the XS which is slightly different but Apple leather cases for the X are no longer available and I've had the black version for the X since release and love it. If it wasn't $10 I wouldn't of bought it. It really doesn't bother me as I rarely am looking at the back of the phone

So those with the official apple leather cases how it is the grip compared to silcone?

The leather one is smoother ans as you would expect doesnt give the resistance of the silicon one. That said the leather one is the one i prefer.

No where near the grip of a silicone case, but that’s expected.

Roughly 75 days of continuous usage on my red Apple leather case so far.

Late edit: switched to the gray/black Apple leather case and it is sleek!

Thanks! Yeah, I gave up on it. I put to much thought and work into it and now it just kind of feels slimy. It’s hard to explain so I started using the red case. And now, the black case and for some weird reason this case has a ton of grip. I only used it for about a week when I first purchased it several months ago. It’s been sitting in the original box until today.

The black leather case is classy, that saddle brown and product red have always been my rotation until this year with the green phone I added Forest Green into the mix, but I can’t wait to go back to the space gray iPhone for the 12 models

Me too. First time I’ve strayed from black/grey. The midnight green is nice but will be back to black this year.

I hear you. I’m not sure if I’m going to upgrade this year or not. So far I’ve been using the 11 pro since launch and have really enjoyed it. This is the longest I’ve had a phone in the last 5-6 years. Swapping phones every few months didn’t seem necessary once I switched to iOS. I’m not saying current android flagships need to be swapped every few months either. They all see very stable over the long term as well. I’m just enjoying using iOS a lot more than I did with android.

Anyway, lol I went off topic a bit with this post.

After 1 month, the saddle brown is turning out nice. The gold stands out a little more, somewhat. A few pages back you see the case before it patinated.

I found the yellow one for $8.99 used. Still pretty good for a used case, the bottom corners already had the spots. Wanted to see for myself on what the yellow does. I have a few cases so I try to use them each for 1 month unless I’m just liking a certain one, otherwise I would keep riding with the saddle brown.
