How long did you use the green case before retiring it?View attachment 926951 Taking the Forest Green out of retirement
On and off since November or DecemberHow long did you use the green case before retiring it?
This is how it looked new. As you can see not much has changed. How long did you use the green case before retiring it?
No, it hasn’t changed much at all. It looks like the corners and sides smoothed out a bit and where your hands naturally grab the phone have also darkened up. Otherwise, it’s still an awesome looking case. This is how it looked new. As you can see not much has changed. View attachment 926959 View attachment 926960
How does Ryan London leather case compare to the official Apple ones? Not yet, had mine for about 2 weeks with almost daily use. Swap to my Ryan London case once in a while but trying to use the electric blue one to see how the patina comes out.
The grain on this case is stunning! Looks awesome. This is how it looked new. As you can see not much has changed. View attachment 926959 View attachment 926960
Thanks, it’s one of the main reasons why I like Forest Green and Product Red because they are the ones that only have that pebbly texture. It almost seems like Apple uses a whole different hide of leather for those 2 colors. The grain on this case is stunning! Looks awesome.

Same here. That’s the only color I haven’t tried yet. I might give it a shot, but my saddle brown is starting to show some signs of wear so I may just stick with it until the 12 is launched.Very nice. This is one colour I have not tried personally. Albeit, I have purchased that colour before, for a friend. Her last name is Green. So, yeah
They may well be different proportions of pebbled-vs-smooth leather among the various colors, but it’s definitely not 100%: my FG and my mother’s PR are butter-smooth, while my daughter’s FG is pebbled—but not as pebbly as the one above. Thanks, it’s one of the main reasons why I like Forest Green and Product Red because they are the ones that only have that pebbly texture. Absolutely worth it, but it also depends on the color you plan on gettingAre the Apple leather cases worth it?
Also what do you clean them with?
So I’ve been using something a little different the last 4 months, since retiring my Forest Green case.
It's a skin/wrap from Slickwraps made from thick full-grain Horween leather. It doesn't really provide any protection though, just grip, as it only covers the back, and the sides of the phone are completely exposed.. but I like it. And it's gotten a lot of compliments.
About 5 days old:
Today, about 4 months later:
That looks so dope. I wish they still made it for the 11’sNot an Apple case, but here’s an 8-ish month patina update on my Slickwraps skin
Yeah it does look awesome. They still make the leather skins, but not in the saddle brown. That looks so dope. I wish they still made it for the 11’s
That one's actually different, it's a leather textured vinyl wrap. Mine was from the natural series, which I believe they discontinued last year unfortunately.Yeah it does look awesome. They still make the leather skins, but not in the saddle brown.

what's the best colour to get? I know that sounds like a stupid question but leather ages differently and some look really horrible. Black?Absolutely worth it, but it also depends on the color you plan on getting
The darker the color the less obvious the patina is. The black, blue and forest green will age the best. The saddle brown looks amazing over time. The yellow, red and taupe (if they still have that) tend to age poorly imowhat's the best colour to get? Saddle brown will give you the most natural patina. Darker colors like black or Forest Green will just look darker over time and have more of a shine. Here’s an examplewhat's the best colour to get?
