My black leather is the same. Bad power button. I missed my return window thanks to COVID
Saddle soap works good. It can give it a nice smell as well.

My first case was the black leather. I had a bad power button, too.
I thought the same thing. But, I tried it with one of the saddle brown cases I initially bought and the sun does make it smell really weird. It’s kind of an ugly pungent smell too. It’s really strange... lol.
No, I thought I read somewhere that leaving it in the sun helped with the patina but it just made it smell horrible.
Here is my my first saddle brown case. Probably used it like 4 months maybe. I ended up cleaning it with saddle soap and then kiwi conditioning oil and coconut oil lol. Kind of had it too greasy so to speak. I’ve cleaned it with alcohol wipes and baby wipes and let it dry out. Now it finally smells like leather again and not greasy. It should wear in nice now from use. All though I have a Bullstrap Sienna Portfolio out for delivery today lol. I’ll probably bounce between them.
I used a microfiber towel and a little water with the saddle soap.
Now the question is, do I use alcohol wipes on my current saddle brown case to dry it out? Or wait and use it as is until the 12 models drop. 🤔
I’ll be starting over here in a few days. I couldn’t resist. Ordered the midnight green 11 pro max and another saddle brown case. Don’t judge me, I have issues. Lol....Just did mine
That looks really good! Forest Green is a beautiful color. I love How it doesn’t just turn black like midnight blue, but just develops this gorgeous shimmer and it just looks richer over time.My Forest Green that I have had since early July on my 11 Pro Max

Man I really like the bullstrap leather. They really patina nice. The regular case on the right is 51 days old and had it on more than off. Compared to my new one on the left you can really tell it has patina’d quite a bit. Getting a real deep rich color. Just thought I’d share.

The buttons are very tactile. They are metal too. They are installed in between the layers and can feel loose if that makes sense. They stick out ever so slightly more than the Apple leather cases but they work. The leather and overall fit is very snug and premium. Oh and the smell is like a new boot!
I’ve had Bullstrap cases for my xr and they are indeed comparable to the official Apple leather cases. The only thing I didn’t like from Bullstrap is their wallets. They have a really strong chemical smell and felt like cheap plastic rather than leather. Their cases though to smell like genuine leather and feel great.
Hey when do you expect the phone to come in? I love my green pro max. Are you going to get any bullstrap cases or any other brand to go along with your Apple leather case?
Hopefully by the weekend. I opted for expedited shipping via UPS, but I haven’t seen any movement on my account as far as the phone being shipped. Estimated ship date is between the 15th and 16th. If it ships tomorrow I don’t expect it to get here before Monday of next week which is a bummer. But, we’ll see.
I ordered the Apple saddle brown case again as well as my favorite spigen ez fit screen protector off Amazon. I’ll have the case and screen protector well before the phone gets here lol!
I’m going to miss this color a lot, I wonder if Apple will offer new color options for the next gen iPhones
