The iPhone 12 leather case is not open at the bottom. Not sure why they changed it but I like a uniform look.
I’m pretty sure it has to do a lot with the design because the 5s leather cases also protected the bottom
I think the cases aren’t open at the bottom because the straight edges of the phone provide less grip than the curved edges so the case needs to be wrapped all around. Either that or added protection. I’m excited to try out the new leather cases next month!
Also, I snagged this photo during the Apple event with a good look at the leather case on the 12. I was hoping for a darker brown but either way I can’t wait for these leather cases!
Does anyone have any pictures of the Bullstrap Bourbon color iPhone case? Thinking about it for the iPhone 12 Pro (Pacific Blue)

I remember someone had found placeholder listings on the Amazon India Apple store, but the only one I remember for sure was the California poppy.
Here is a pic outside in the sunlight. Inside it’s darker than nomad’s rustic brown
I know it’s a stupid thing to comment about but that dark brown silicone (?) ring around the camera looks incredibly ugly to me. I’m going to be going with black leather this year for sure to avoid that contrast.
Agreed. No idea what they were thinking with that outline even on the silicone cases. The 11 and older ones were so nice.
I am also considering going non-Apple leather case given both controversial MagSafe charging and that ugly silicon ring pointed out above. I was considering Bullstrap in Sienna but don’t love that the bottom is cutout like the older iPhone cases. I’m interested in what others are considering too. Anybody know of one will a full coverage bottom like the new Apple ones?
There’s a leaked screenshot from the supposed Apple India Website showing the leather cases at initial release will be the same colours as the MagSafe wallets with the addition of product red.

The wallet pictures look the same colour as the strap, so I’d imagine the case will be.
