Would anyone know how to lighten/ remove the patina? My saddle brown is too dark for my taste and I’d like to lighten it a bit, restoring the original lighter colour to some extent. Is it possible?

After a long thought and after using so many third party leather cases such as Decoded, Nomad, Mujjo, ESR, and Rhinoshield, for my iPhone 12 Pro Max, i decided to buy Apple Leather Case Saddle Brown.

I know and I’m okay about the coating and the Patina issues, but i also heard about the issue of it popping off/ loose fit. I want to see it my self and i found out that my Saddle Brown case fits very well, it pretty snug and wont popping off easily. I tried to push it with my finger and it stays tight, fits really well. So far, leave the patina issues behind, Apple Leather Case is still the best.

And for the third party leather case, the best one is Decoded Magsafe Leather case.

After several working sessions with Sandpaper and leather balm I finally got this patina.

Definitely looks better than the new ones. I’ve seen some forced patina around here that looked real but this isn’t that. I think if you continue to use it a real patina will set in and it may work really well with the current look.

Keep us posted. I’m interested in where this will go.

Will do! We‘ll see…

I have been using Andar's leather case recently and love it! I just ordered a brand new one to use once my current one wears out. I attached a picture of a brand new one next to my current one so you can see the difference. I've had this case for months now and love how it looks both brand new and after a couple months.

I was just looking at these last night and wondering what they looked like with after a few months. Good timing.

How long did it take for this to happen? Pics?

ive been using this case since december. Makes sense that the edges on it are wearing as such but to me the overall muddying is unattractive to my eye, some are more wabi-sabi than i

i currently am using the kumquat apple silicone case and i much prefer that to the leather case: better grip, better protection not much additional added bulk (vs leather).

My Bullstrap case for my 12PM finally arrived. Out of the box it looks way better than the previous Apple leather cases I've owned (and now sold). I had the black leather and the California poppy one, but the Sienna color looks really elegant with the silver accents of the phone. Also, it smells like actual leather :)

I'll keep updating this post as my case is aging, but for now I'm not sure if I want the patina process to start – it looks that good IMO :p The only little critique I have is the bullstrap logo itself, I'm not a big fan of it. But the overall quality and feel of the case make it acceptable.

I love my Bullstrap case. I have had mine since just before the start of the new year. It is my favorite leather case that I have bought in the last 4 years, easily.

I saw some reviews where the new gen apple silicone cases, are very delicate, easy to break, in few words a POS, is that true???
