It is! got mine delivered yesterday and it's pretty much a black green. based on the other patina pictures... it's gonna turn black as it ages....
same here... mine may be going back!

i'm just not a fan of any of the apple case colors this year.....

I found the bright leather colors age HORRIBLY. The pinks, the orange, yellows. All awful. We'll see how the green looks in person. I'm having a hard time choosing a cover this time around. I should just go back to a skin.... but I refuse to order from crappy slickwraps and I don't want just a clear skin.... Maybe I'll end up keeping the green and just ignore when it eventually turns black????
Agreed. I asked for a forest green and they gave us one but I'm not sure they got the hue right... I actually LOVED the aubergine. Again, the hue was off - I wish it was slightly lighter but it's held up extremely well this year
Maybe give dbrand a shot? I don’t have any personal experience with their phone wraps but they have some excellent designs/colors and the reviews I’ve seen are stellar. I’ve had one on my ‘16 MacBook Retina for a couple years and it is as solid as the day I stuck it on.

I have those concerns as well but I’m still getting cape cod..love the colour! Worst case scenario if it gets a dirty look as opposed to a darkening I will put some leather conditioner on it

tips on weathering the saddle brown? it'll be my first one (I bought a black one way back but immediately regretted the slick feel of it and returned it. However I'm willing to put in some work now. I need some grippy feel, which I guess comes with oil and age. still coconut oil and time?

I've often considered card wallet cases, but then I realize there's no way I could go around with 2-3 cards, so what's the point? Credit card (at least one), debit, transit, license. minimum 4, but even that is pushing it. Just not useful to me.

Some people opt to go that route. It was just hands and time for me and I’m very pleased with the results after only a few months.
does it get grippy? That was my issue with the brand new one - slipped around in my hand too much.
edit: also, has anyone here used Leather Honey on it?

It does. Give it a few weeks and it will feel great in hand. Granted my hands are rather oily but it didn’t take much time at all to feel secure.
Yeah. The Horizon Blue was promo pics. He didn't have one in hand. Didn't help.

Just got mine. Probably wont open it until the phone arrives, but hopefully this helps a bit. Reminds me of "ultra violet" (which I have on my phone), in blue form.
I literally decided to give my wife the upgrade this year because I wanted to keep my Saddle Brown case because of the patina...lol

I'm actually really glad the forest green is dark - reminds me of last year's dark aubergine. Super excited to pick one up tomorrow!
The best way to “age” Apple leather cases is just to use them. They’ll ware in soon enough. I wouldn’t recommend using any leather cleaner on at all. The natural oils off your hands will do all the ageing necessary.
I looooooooooooved the aubergine. I was hoping for an aubergine and a forest... Alas, just one. I'm sad about it a little.
