For those looking for an option for leather cases, I noticed that the 13 series Platinum branded cases from Best Buy are made from Horween Leather, which is the same leather that Nomad uses. It might be a good alternative for some of you. I've always ignored them in the past, so I'm not sure if they've always been made from Horween Leather, but I'm sure Horween Leather would have caught my attention before.

I ordered the Camel Tan for my 13 Pro on Sunday. Got a shipping email Monday. Saw on Tuesday on the tracking that the label was cancelled. Emailed Andar to find out what was happening. Got a reply that they oversold the Camel Tan and if I would accept any of the other 3 colors they would throw in a few cord burritos. I had to look on their website to see what a 'cord burrito" was. After seeing what it was, I had no use for these so I sent a counteroffer. I would take the Aspen iPhone case in Navy and a Navy AirPods Pro Capsule case or just refund my money. They accepted this and they are on the way to me now.
That was some good negotiating on your part. Mine should be here Tuesday. I am betting that I will be very happy with the blue and hopefully you will be, as well.

Hey guys. Got my Andar Aspen case in and man am I blown away. The smell of the leather hits you as soon as you open the box! The order process was great and they delivered several days earlier than promised.

First and foremost, the quality of the leather is top notch! Much better IMO than the Apple leather case.

The fit and finish is amazing as well. Case fits tightly and buttons are clicky. Cameras are also protected as well with a slightly raised lip.

The bottom is open however I actually prefer that as I use the reachability feature all the time and the open bottom makes it easier. This case fits more tightly than the apple case so if there is a bottom impact I’m sure the two corners and bottom lip of the case will provide enough clearance to protect the phone.

It also came with a $5 off coupon which I plan to use for a MagSafe wallet. Best of all it is made in the USA!

I just bought this case today in camel tan because of your post.
This looks like what the Apple leather case should have been.

The blue is nice. The leather is nice. The fit is great. Magsafe is flawless. The buttons work great. Extremely happy with the iPhone case as well as the AirPods Capsule. Forgot to add that I used a 20% off coupon on the initial purchase so I got both for $40. Excellent deal for the quality

Can you share some photos when you have a moment? I just got new AirPods and am interested in that case. I also love leather phone cases so that's a bonus.

Wow, that does look really good. I like that lip around the cameras. The shade of blue is just perfect to me. And getting them for $40 is an unbeatable price. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

I am just afraid that Andar leather will just get stained with anything and everything since it seems to be uncoated leather. The nice thing about Apple leather is that you can wipe mustard stain for example. With Andar, i am not so sure.

My Bullstrap Sienna preorder just arrived for my 13 Pro. Will takes pics of it later next to the old 12 Pro one that I think aged wonderfully.

Impressed with it out of the box. I prefer the raised leather around the camera cutout to plastic like other cases.

Looks great!

Does the leather seem thicker than what you get on the Apple cases?

Just received the navy Andar Aspen case for my 13 Pro. Unfortunately it didn’t take long to decide that I’ll be sending it back and keeping my midnight Apple leather case instead. The Andar case is nice, but out of the box it’s surprisingly slippery. I know it’ll become more grippy over time (I had the same Apple leather case on my iPhone X for 4+ years) but it had much less grip than the Apple case right out of the box. The navy color is nice but more subtle than I expected - it’s definitely more blue than the midnight case, but not nearly as blue as it looks on the Andar website. The fit is good, and offers a bit more lip for screen protection, but it shows less of the stainless steel frame. My least favorite feature is the buttons, which protrude from the sides fairly prominently - I much prefer the partially recessed buttons on the Apple case.

Overall I think it’s a very nice case, but it didn‘t “wow” me like I thought it would. And I definitely didn’t expect to like the Apple case better (the closed bottom is a plus for Apple, but not a deciding factor).

As an aside, given the difficulty I had removing the Apple case to put on the Andar, I’m really puzzled by the thread about the Apple case popping off at the corners. Either there are some defective cases out there or some people simply aren’t pushing their phone all the way into the case, IMHO.

Curious when you ordered your case? I placed my order back on September 23rd, and it doesn’t look like it’s going out with the “batch 1” preorders today.

As for Apple cases, i have two. Midnight and Sequoia. Midnight fits like a glove, tight corners! Sequoia left lower corner does not “securely” go over the iphone steel band…thus, easily “peels” back with any little pressure. The case does not come off the phone but the corner peels back.

What is weird is that Midnight color Apple leather cases seem to have best fit vs the other colors. :D

How long did it take to ship and get from when you placed the order?

That is strange. I’m glad I got the midnight - very happy with it.

I preordered September 14th. I think the first day or two they were open. It was my favorite leather case for the 12 Pro and already my favorite for the 13 Pro too.

I’ve been using a GB Apple leather case on my 13 PM since launch. I have an Andar Aspen in Camel Tan due in this week… you kind of put a damper on expectations. Lol
