Best looking brown leather case I have seen so far.
Did you put anything on the case? This looks way better than the brown Nomad I used daily for 4 months straight on my mini. I’m currently using the natural Nomad on my regular 12.
Has anybody else gotten the navy Andar? From the pictures it looks close to how the Ocean Bullstrap looks but you never know when it comes to promo shots.
Awesome. Thank you!![]()

The blue is nice. The leather is nice. The fit is great. Magsafe is flawless. The buttons work great. Extremely happy with the iPhone case as well as the AirPods Capsule. Forgot to add that I used a 20% off coupon on the initial purchase so I got both for $40. Excellent deal for the quality .forums.macrumors.com
I'm interested to hear your thoughts on the Andar case vs. the Apple case. I'm interested in the Andar except I'm hesitant because the bottom isn't covered.Rustic brown skin from Nomad. I also ordered a navy Andar case but have not seeing anything regarding shipping on that one. Has anybody else gotten the navy Andar? I am so close to ordering the Nomad skin. How’s the adhesion? Seem like the edges will be durable? I like the concept particularly for the regular 13 and it’s fingerprint friendly back.Rustic brown skin from Nomad. I've only had it on since yesterday but it seems solid. Everything I've read says it's one and done so if you screw up it's ruined but I had to remove it after getting it all the way on because the bottom was off to one side and it ended up going on perfectly the second time. There's an air bubble I've been fighting near the volume buttons but I've pretty much given up and am now just hoping it goes away with time like I've seen on other skins/wraps.I am so close to ordering the Nomad skin. Same, they sent name a 10% off code but still $90AUD to here. Guess it's $5 cheaper than apples dog leather.I'm interested to hear your thoughts on the Andar case vs. the Apple case. I'm interested in the Andar except I'm hesitant because the bottom isn't covered.
That's pretty much what mine looks like as well and its been my only case since launch. Kinda wish it would show a little more patina or if they had offered a saddle brown type of color instead. Makes me wish I had just gone with black.Unfortunately the iPhone 13 Decoded Chocolate Brown case doesn't seem to patina very much. At least not like I'm used to from other cases. The brown color is very uniform and scratches aren't lighter in color, if that makes sense. Here's some photos of mine after 25 days.

Just got my Andar case in and it has exceeded my expectations.
Versus the Apple leather case:
The Andar has that stereotypical pungent smell of traditional high quality leather and it's so strong I could smell it even before I opened the box.
With respect to leather quality there’s no comparison whatsoever to the Apple case, even my old IPhone X Apple leather case wasn’t close.
This is a clear cut example of Andar's use of full-grain leather versus Apple's use of lesser genuine leather.
For those unsatisfied with the patina of Apple's recent leather cases the good news is that I hit the Andar with some Venetian Shoe Cream and the leather drank it right up and darkened instantly.
This case is 100% going to patina naturally and evenly — the Camel Tan color WILL be a patina champ.
FWIW, Venetian Shoe Cream had zero impact on the Golden Brown Apple case which is how I knew it was a painted finish instead of a traditionally tanned and dyed leather.
The Andar buttons are the equal of Apple’s, IMO.
They are black anodized aluminum and the responsiveness and feel is basically identical to Apple’s — though they are less recessed as noted by other posters.
I have no preference either way and both are about as good as it gets for a phone case button, IMO.
The Andar has a slightly higher screen lip with slightly more wrap which I prefer to Apple’s screen lip.
In theory it should provide a little more screen protection in addition to just looking better, IMO.
I have no complaints regarding the open bottom as of yet.
It’s not like the old open bottom Apple cases that had the bottom bezel exposed at the rear of the phone.
The Andar is like the Bullstrap in that it still offers a protective lip on the rear of the bottom bezel. (See photos)
It’s almost a crime the Andar is $10 less than Apple’s leather case (actually closer to $20 with 10% discount and free shipping) because they are not comparable products in my view.
The Andar should be the one that’s $10-$20 more because it’s an objectively higher quality product, IMO.
I don’t have a MagSafe charger or wallet so unfortunately I can’t give my opinion on that aspect of the case.
I would return the Apple case if I didn’t already try to force patina.
The Apple case will be demoted to my beater case.
Any idea..how to avoid my nomad case from drying?it seem drying more at the edge of the case..
Thank you for your recomemdationI’m not exactly sure which leather Nomad uses but if it’s Horween Chromexcel then Horween recommends Venetian Shoe Cream.
Saphir Renovateur is always a safe bet too.
Yeah it definitely get more grippy after it breaks in a bitGot my Andar case today and as others have mentioned it’s the best leather case I’ve had. Only one small gripe and that it’s a bit slippy in the had. Hopefully this’ll wear off in a day or two?

I have had my Andar Aspen case for about a week now and its grip has gotten better. It was pretty slipper at day 1-3.I’m not sure. I used Venetian shoe cream on my Andar case the day I got it and that stuff has waxes in it that almost give it a tacky quality
I've used cases like that for the last 5-6 years - yeah slippery at first, as they get broken in they get a lot more grippy. It's worth it to have heavy leather like this vs the aluminum can thin leather that has a wax coating on it.I’m not a fan of putting anything on leather cases. I’ve managed to ruin them in the past, making them sticky to the point I couldn’t use them. Better just to let the leather age naturally.

And I've never ever done anything to my leather cases other than use my own hands on them.
I get mine today!
Which one?
Cool. Looking forward to reading your impressions.![]()
