Leather Cases - Patina Proud Photos

Depends on what you use really.
Venetian and Saphir’s definitely will not ruin any leather.
But both do have a wax component in them that allows you to use a horsehair brush to buff them to a slight gloss finish that also happens to improve grip on a phone case. Both are leather preservatives and not polishes though.
 
Just received the decoded brown leather case. Oh boy. Pretty heavy and it came already a bit scuffed on the edges. But anyway, I put it on and what is this? The buttons are almost impossible to press! Volume seems ok but the power button is extremely hard to press. Anybody else witnessed the same?

Also tagging @AVBeatMan - Just got my Andar Aspen delivered and popped it on so these are initial reactions.

While the leather is thicker than the Apple leather case, the overall case is thicker too. I forgot how much I missed open bottom cases (what I've preferred and used over the last 4-5 years). This may bother some tho.

Extremely powerful leather smell - almost overpowering as you open the box.

Putting my phone into the case - I noticed it didn't quite align right so it needed me to snap the top portion down and then the bottom portion fit. And yep, you do not want to take this on/off frequently because, I just tried to take it off and it is VERY snug (like break your iPhone trying to remove it snug). (Imo, this is a great thing as the Apple Leather case pops out edges now and then for me).

It is very slippery. The case has an oil on it as fingers remain slippery after handling and it leaves streaks on the iPhone screen when using screen immediately after touching so I guess that means the case is conditioned? It's not excessive and I expect break-in will not be impacted at all.

The camera guard appears to be metal so if you're like me and put your phone on stuff - that's something you'll want to be careful about.

Buttons are hard to press but my experience with other cases is that they ease up over time. Volume buttons are same height as each other.

I love it. It isn't as thick as some of the old cases I had for my 12 Pro Max (no longer being manufactured), but it is much better than the Apple Leather case. It smells amazing. I've found my case for the next (hopefully) 2-3+ years. I'm tired of upgrading too frequently so we'll see how it looks!

Edit: Buttons are breaking in and noticeably easier to click vs fresh out of box. Almost Apple level now.

I just received a black Decoded case for my 13PM today. No scuffs on mine at all. Both power a volume buttons are nice and click easily when pressed. Just like the Apple cases. I’d ask for a replacement.

I signed up for the "shoot me an email" action on their site for the brown one... Im still waiting to hear back. I sent a message to them through the chat box, there still isn't any definite date on when it will be back in stock... should have ordered when there was 3 left.
 
I have really enjoyed my Camel Tan Andar for 13PM so far. I ordered one of their MagSafe wallets in the same color over the weekend. I’m excited for it to get here. Will post some pics with my thoughts when it does.

Nomad update. Here it is after about two weeks. I was a little worried about the Natural color, but I’m happy with how it’s aging.

I'm interested to hear your thoughts on the Mag wallet. I've been debating on it too...
 
Great thread! Just got the midnight blue for my 13P. Will MagSafe indent the case? Not to bothered, just wondered. Thanks

I picked up their watch strap too. No complaints at all in the quality there either FWIW.
