This may be a dumb question but is there any method to bring back the original color or close to it?
I stopped buying Midnight Blue because it eventually all turned black.
Last year, I thought the purple (aubergine) was a good trade off but here we are, a year later and it is almost indistinguishable from black.
I like the wear and tear look of it and the feel of course, I just want something close to the original color.

Saddle Brown XS Max after 3 weeks of use. This includes a week at Oktoberfest in Germany with frequent leather-on-leather friction from sliding in and out of the pocket of my leather lederhosen as well as fingers sometimes covered in sausage grease and/or beer. The only thing I did to it was a couple second scrub with a magic eraser to help remove that slippery coating Apple applies to it. It looks slightly darker in these photos than it does in person.

I love the SADDLE BROWN
bought it a year ago for the X (let it age naturally) and decided to have another go for the XS Max
and want to speed up the patina for the new one
after some research , want to give NEATSFOOT OIL a try
this is after about 5 treatments, twice a week

(rub and let it dry in the sun for the UV)

I may be in the minority but I feel this thread has devolved from "show your patina" to "talk about what you did to make your phone look like it has patina".

From Merriam-Webster: patina - a surface appearance of something grown beautiful especially with age or use
True. New phones came out 3 weeks ago. Its not going to have much patina if you didn't purposefully accelerate it.

I tried the forest green but sent it back, I just like the saddle brown too much. Will get my replacement weds.

Has anyone tried using shoe polish? Like using brown polish on product red or black or cordovan polish on the saddle brown?

Your product red looks great! Better than a lot of other ones I’ve seen who has turned black around the edges.

Your pic is closer to ruby/raspberry red and I want it!
I was thinking the same. My wife had red on hers for about six months and it looked way more dirty than this one.

I have few cases and even though case is few months old , I only used for few weeks as I keep rotating my cases and finally settled with saddle brown. More pics to give you better idea.

Wow this looks great.
I’m actually quite surprised it looks that good under indoor lighting and in picture. I think in most daylight lighting it doesn’t look as dark and at the moment the grip is improving a bit but still a bit slippery for me. Not sure whether it will become lesser slippery as it age.

I had product red leather case for 6+ long ago and I didn’t like how it turned out after 3 months as it become dirty looking. I hope saddle brown will serve me better. I like how it evolves so far.

Gonna sound weird, but could someone show me a pic of the saddle brown screen from the front with the device on? I love how the saddle brown ages, but I’ve always used black leather cases. I’m worried about whether I would like the contrast on the front from brown case to black bezel to screen.

Not weird at all, I had the same concern when I got the Saddle Brown for my X last fall. Fell in love with the look as soon as I put it on. Same thing happened with the Max this time around. I’ll get a better shot tomorrow in natural light.
