Yep, and the rest of the case kept just as new. Looked like painting was going away instead of the leather aging.

With something soft but with little absorption. Alcohol goes away from quickly. I did it with a soft paper towel.
Then you let it dry overnight and the rest of the job is with your skin oils.
Is that patina all natural? My golden brown leather case was just losing the leather paint. But yours looks to be darkening as it should be! It is starting to look really good!
I‘ve gently wiped it with hand sanitizer straight after I‘ve got it and then again about two weeks later. There is still paint coming off but I‘ll just leave it as it is. It looks like it will age quite nicely now.

My full grain leather dbrand skin came in yesterday but mine has the Apple cutout (I wasn't expecting it because of your picture); I would have preferred a skin without the Apple cutout. Also, I thought it would be like all of their other skins and come with either the precision or standard fit, but it only came with the back piece. I haven't installed it yet. I wound up ordering a full body skin from ArmorSuit, which I'm going to apply to my phone first so it protects the Apple logo and the stainless steel sides from scratches.
I really like the cherry color. Is it “redder” in person?

It‘s not really red, at least I can’t see red. It’s more like a plum most of the time. But it’s hard to tell as the colour is always changing. Depending on the lighting the colours are like this:
I had my doubts but I‘m really loving this colour now. Glad I picked it up.

Just coming up on three weeks since I removed the coating on my new saddle brown. No oils added, just natural patina happening here. I think it’s aging beautifully. The photos never look as good as in person.
