Gotta say I’m loving the Nomad Rustic Brown modern leather case so far. My biggest issue with their sport case was the back being smudged up with fingerprints and feeling gross. This fixes all of those flaws. I do wish the buttons were metal but that’s a minor gripe. Getting it for half off on the huckberry site was a steal!

I just got an Andar 'The Marshal' case, wanted to post my impressions of it. I hope to be able to return here in a month or two with some nice patina photos.

• The buttons are super easy to press, and look good.
• The hole for the silent toggle is large enough, but you could struggle if you have big fingers or have cut your nails all the way back.
• The sides of the case are leather the same as the back, so there may not be as much grip as some cases that use a different material on the sides. But I wouldn't say the leather is slippery.
• The leather does provide a lip over the edges of the phone which is good for drop protection. It can make swiping back from the outside edge in a bit more difficult though.
• The edges around the back cameras are raised enough that the cameras don't touch the surface when you put the phone down, but it looks like it's pretty close
• Overall I'm quite happy with it. Thanks to everyone else who posted about Andar's cases!

i had a navy decoded case for my 12 pro. The finish was kind of slick and didnt't have much of a leather smell. The patina was okay but the magsafe wasn't the strongest. Could have been from the slick finish but my apple magsafe wallet slid off multiple times in public. Im lucky I noticed each time. The quality of the case was fine but I just missed a better leather smell and the weak magsafe bothered me. I since switched to an Andar aspen and love it! wonderful smell to it and good magsafe strength. Again, this was for my 12 pro so it's possible decoded improved these on their 13 cases. That was just my experience.

So I did a little experiment. I took the metal buttons from my Nomad Sport case and put them on my Nomad Modern Leather case. They fit perfectly and the metal felt 10x more premium than the plastic buttons. However, the Modern Leather's TPE frame is slightly thicker than the Sport. The button was not able to be pressed due to this (wasn't able to travel). It was awesome though. I really, really hope Nomad adds the metal buttons to the iPhone 14 series Modern Leather case.

Thanks for sharing! Mine arrived this afternoon and for $35 this one is very tough to beat. Fit and finish are both excellent, buttons quite tactile and it smells like a baseball mitt

I’ve always done a brown Apple case but went blue in ‘20 with this 12PM. Nice to have the brown option again and I’m looking forward to the patina developing.

Send them feedback. It's a small company, so someone will read the message, and hopefully it will result in change.

I've told them that Horween do make more than the usual black, brown, and natural leathers, so expanding their products' color palette would be a welcome move.

Horween's color #8 is reknown, so it's odd for such a big promoter of theirs to ignore it. Or maybe something like a deep blue. Doesn't have to be flashy, but it will relieve those who seek something other than brown and black from having to look elsewhere.

Five week update.

Had to apply the ‘dramatic warm’ filter to the camera to get a closer to life colour as the standard setting on my 13 pro was making the case appear a lot brighter and greener than it was.

This is as close to life as I can get it. Love this case.

No filters this time. Same lighting but appears to have captured it a bit better

I actually used it for about 1 month and the leather “paint” started wearing away at the edges leaving it a lot darker on the sides than in the middle, I then completely stripped it away with isopropyl alcohol then just let it wear down on its own i have been using automotive wax on it to keep water out, I’m not sure if I’m exactly happy with it but it’s better than it was doing when the coating was wearing off

Very true. My iPhone 8 Apple leather case used for a year on an se2. I’m currently using a product red Apple leather case on my se3.

I would love to see a side by side comparison with this, Bullstrap, and Aspen. They all look identical, I wonder if they're all made by the same base factory??

Aspen is nowhere near the quality of Bullstrap, IMO. This one looks the same as Bullstrap and Ryan London which are significantly better in fit & finish. The Aspen has nice leather but the fit is terrible, at least in my experience.
