Anyone knows what’s the difference between the nomad leather case or nomad horween leather case? Their website have these two as separate items. I thought they were all horween.

This is interesting. Prior to the Nomad iPhone 13 series leather case line, all their "Rugged" Leather cases were Horween leather. This year it looks like the Modern Leather series wasn't Horween for some reason (probably supply chain issues) and then later added the usual Horween leather into the mix.

They should all be horween I think. There are some Apple Watch straps that are not horween, but I don’t think its the case for iPhone cases
Confirmed with Nomad support. The modern leather is not horween but identical. Just less expensive. That explains the two different price tags. I always thought they were all horween.

So the horween has rustic brown, the other one only “brown”?

I bought it few months ago, how can I be sure that mine is Horween or not?

Nomad confirmed the old modern leather cases are horween leather. (rustic brown). The new brown for the modern leather are not horween but close enough.

Definitely. You really can’t match Apple’s slim profile. Nomad has a thicker frame and more of a front lip.
Okay, cool.

I have managed to pick up a brand new, black one, off eBay for £17.50 to try out.

I'll sell it on if I don't like it

Currently debating between the Andar Aspen (Camel Tan) and Bullstrap Sienna.

The Andar is $50, and Bullstrap is $80+. I definitely like how the bullstrap looks more, but is it worth almost double the price?

Got it.

I like it- it is a tad chunkier than the Apple case but I kinda like it- the way the lip of of the case is level with my screen protector gives the phone a nice look and feel. I think the case makes the phone taller rather than much wider.

The leather back is harder than I expected too - has that nice leather smell.

Hope it develops a nice sheened ‘classic’ black leather patina - couldn’t find too many images of patina’d black ones, most tend to have the brown cases.

Can you send an image about the midnight patina?
8 weeks old. Not much patina but its definitely shinier and a little bit stickier, but in a good way.

It looks different in daylight:

It depends how long you plan to keep your phone? If you’re upgrading every year, might not be worth it. If you keep your phone longer than 1 year, BS is worth it for their customer service and replacement policy.

Thanks for sharing! Mine arrived this afternoon and for $35 this one is very tough to beat. Fit and finish are both excellent, buttons quite tactile and it smells like a baseball mitt

I’ve always done a brown Apple case but went blue in ‘20 with this 12PM. Nice to have the brown option again and I’m looking forward to the patina developing.

Are you still rocking this case? How is it so far?

I average around ~2-2.5 years per phone. So probably better to just get the Bullstrap I guess. I did notice the other brandon on Amazon which looks nearly identical (Wilken). It looks similar to the Ryan London / Bullstrap, but has a 'W' logo on the bottom. Debating getting that instead now.

If bullstrap wasn't so damn expensive this would be an instant purchase 😭

re you still using this one? Hows it holding up?
Still use it every day, even tried to swap it back to Apple leather case for a week just to change things up...that feels so different now, THAT leather especially - and went right back to this one.

Holding up extremely well, no peeling or any signs of falling apart. Few scratches from normal every day use, which is fine. Patina is great. I've been VERY happy with this case!

They are expensive but they will replace your case for any reason, even on a minor drop/ding on the case. So if you’re not the type to like to own many cases, BS is worth it for its value through the holding period of your phone. If you’re the type that likes to own like 3+ cases for one phone, this will be up to your finance and splurging allowance. ^__^
