Two weeks in…. The out of the box slipperiness has gone but it’s not sticky like Apple’s.
I seem to have got over the open bottom hurting the pinky- I tend to hold the phone differently now

I received my Ocean Bullstrap case today and my free Dune case a few days ago. The bullstrap cases feel very different from my Andar case, the texture is a bit more rough so I'm still getting used to it. Also still getting used to the open bottom and I prefer the closed bottom of the Andar but the Bullstrap looks a lot better than the Andar.

I agreed. I like the BS the most. I returned the navy Andar same day I received it because I feel the quality is much better on the BS along with the grip. I like the BS more than my RL. waiting for two Cretanbull to get here this week to compare them.
Just landed, my RL black case for the 13 mini! Awesome case, best leather case I've had so far.

Trying to be cheap with cases for my 14PM since I went overboard for 12 Pro cycle, so far I just have Caudate Sheath, red silicone case, and now this

..The saddle brown looks cool but I’m just worried about it not being the shade I want for this reason that or the other
Seems lots of variation between Ali Bullstrap and RL even unit to unit for the same product/co
Think black is a safer bet but if I like it maybe I’ll get another in saddle brown eventually

Two Cretanbull is here (Ash and Marine color). Buttons on par with RL and BS. Feels good in the hand. Leather is on the soft side like BS, to me is a good thing. Unlike RL, feels a bit rough and slippery out of the box. Cretanbull and BS not as slippery out of the box. Got a couple of scratches already on the RL after week of usage. Will see how the Cretanbull holds up. RL doesn't come with a box or a bag just paper sleeve. All smells amazing.

I ended up getting the Andar Aspen in black for my iPhone 14 Pro Max and got to sit it side by side with my black RL. First off, I don't ever use cases on my phone. However, with a 4 year old and a 2 year old, I can no longer take the chance of just having it around without a case.
Fit: Both cases fit really well. RL is definitely tighter around the phone as I have a much harder time taking it on and off. Otherwise, both are pretty snug and I wouldn't be worried about my phone falling out if I dropped it. The Andar case does have a closed bottom, which I greatly prefer again, because of my toddlers. The front lip around the screen is also taller/higher on the Andar. So, for maximum protection, the Andar will allow you to slam your phone face down on a table without worry. RL's is thinner, so I feel better putting it down more gently vs the Andar.
Feel: I definitely feel that RL is more premium. If I can compare it, it just feels as if RL has more leather on it whereas Andar's leather is a bit thinner. I also love the leather around the camera hump for RL. The metal ring around the Andar case throws me off a bit whenever I touch it as it's a cold sensation compared to the leather. Andar's is also thicker to me. The phone feels bulkier when compared to RL.
MagSafe: The Andar case has weaker magnets for sure. But, that's not necessarily a bad thing! My phone stayed attached just fine to my MagSafe charger and I was able to pull it off easily while still feeling that there was a significant attachment between the charger and my phone. I never thought an errant swing of my hand would knock it off. RL, on the other hand, is super strong; maybe too strong for me, where I feel every time I pull off my phone, I basically have to peel it off the charger, and it makes that loud scratchy sound as the case and the charger separates each time.
Buttons: RL's buttons are pretty flush with the case. It's still plenty clicky when you do press down on them. They're just not as pronounced. Andar's on the other hand has their buttons well above the case itself and I love them! They're super clicky and I always know where they are because they are raised.
Choosing between the two, I'm going with RL and sending Andar back. Andar's case is great in itself and if I got it without ever getting RL, I believe I would be plenty happy. RL just feels a bit more premium, is thinner (great for me who never uses cases), and has leather around the camera hump. If I could have RL's case with a closed bottom, it'd be the ideal case for me as I like the uniformity of it and greater protection.

Interesting.... as I thought the RL buttons were horrible.. even worse so than the Andar case which I thought were flat and mushy. I guess its just a matter of manufacturing tolerances. My BS case buttons are perfect and just as clicky as Apple's leather case. That is about as close to a perfect leather case that I have found this year.
Doubly interesting as my RL buttons are spot on.

Yea wasn't a fan myself...but that's me. Build quality was not on par with my expectation. I definitely won't be using them again in the future considering its an overseas company and have options domestically. I would have returned the case without a doubt but didn't even feel like going through the headache.
I like the RL buttons a bit better because it sit slightly above the leather but not too much. Unlike, BS and Cretanbull they’re kinda flush with the leather. By all means, both BS and Cretanbull buttons aren’t bad. They’re both nice and clicky just like RL.
Both of my RL cases (black) have perfect buttons while the Cretanbull’s are recessed and cockeyed. Last year’s Bullstrap was perfect but I haven’t ordered from them so far.

That Cretanbull ash looks interesting. I wonder if there are any patina pics for the ash. Maybe I’m wrong but I imagine the patina wouldn’t look as good as I think.
