Just got this email this morning. How beautiful is this? But I’d be crazy worried about getting it dirty! Thoughts?
I wish they would just release a dark blue option. This cloud is going to look nasty over time and I’m not a fan of the green undertones for the Ocean color

It'll get dirty really quickly. I kind of lean towards it not looking good but you never know until that patina kicks in. But I think it'll age like the Dune cases but look dirtier.
Yeah. Too bad. It’s pretty! I like white cases. Maybe apple will release a silicone white again. But when I had white I wanted pink (which is what I have). Would be nice to have both!

But I do have the dune AirPod case. It’s gorgeous and I don’t worry about it

I'll say it again. :p Y'all are hard on the wallet.

Just got my Cretanbull in the mail yesterday. Looks very similar to the RyanLondon and the Bullstrap.

Ordered on 12/8, got a notice it was out for delivery yesterday (12/12) (Arizona to California).

My comments? I love the Espresso color. Smelled heavily similar to pinesol (not off putting but very strong). My Andar case had a protective layer of something on the case that made it really slippery. Cretanbull's case has 2-3x of that grease/oil. It coats your fingers and you can smear it on your screen so be careful. Initially the buttons were a little messed up but after a day of use they popped into place and look normal now.

I didn't believe it at first but this case is almost identical to the other companies - I think the poster who said they all share the same mold is right.

Can't go wrong with the price. $46. I'm gunna have to keep my 13PM for another year with Andar, Bullstrap, RyanLondon, and now a Cretanbull case! lol. RyanLondon takes the win for smelling like leather imo. Andar's case is a bit bulkier but Bullstrap (expensive but warranty), RyanLondon (smells like leather!), and Cretanbull (cheaper!) are very similar.

i've tried applying conditioning/water resistant leather milk but the cretanbull case never eats it up, while the ryan london is dry as a bone 15 minutes after a treatment. cretanbull does say on their site that they use a wax coating.

I did smell a relatively prominent leather odor upon opening the cretanbull case, but I do have the onyx (black) color.

Cretanbull shipment finally arrived. Here are the clay and ash cases. I can’t decide which I like more. I ordered both because I couldn’t decide on a color, and I’ll probably send one back.
The leather looks and smells amazing. The magnet is pretty strong, and I really like the open bottom.
That darker one is beautiful. Almost like a wet stone.

Yep, I have three of the four for my 14PM. Same buttons and camera bump with the open bottom.

How’s the front lip on that Clayton & Crume?

It appears to be a cut above the rest to my eye.

Ink really feels like they brought back the beloved old Midnight Blue, very happy with this, really great with Deep Purple

Does anyone have the Lonli leather case? I just brought it for my 14 Pro max off Amazon for $25 and not sure it’s leather. I did the water droplet test, where you put a drop of water on the leather to see if it soaks it up and it did not. I know real leather would have soaked it and left a left mark but this did not. Although the feel is great, I’m not sure if this is actual leather.

iPhone 14 pro finally arrived!! Here with the Ryan London saddle brown

Saying goodbye to my already old friend 12 mini…

it's a shame the Apple brand cases suck so bad now. The 8/X era of Apple leather cases was so good.
What’s wrong with the apple branded cases now? The one I had on my XS was great and planning to buy one for my 14 pro max.

They are inferior in terms of quality. They're still a good case but there are better options out there if you're after proper genuine leather
Agreed! There are definitely better options in terms of the leather quality. Knowing that, I still stick with the Apple leather case because nothing just has that exact same look, fit, and feel as Apple’s, in my opinion.

There is nothing that matches the feel of an Apple case on an iPhone. Have to give you that. If I was to do Apple Leather I'd definitely do the black case for me.

Thank you all. I made my mind and going with an Andar case. I just cannot pick between brown or camel tan. Anyone with either one, which of those colors is more close to the Umber apple case color? I do want a visible patina and hoping with use the Camel tan would darken.

Brown is probably closer to Umber out of the box.
But Andar patinas like it is supposed to — after ~6 months both will end up darker than Umber.

This is Camel Tan after about 6 months, at about three months next to new Camel Tan and then new out of the box.

Thank you! I just ordered the Camel tan and believe I made a good choice! The patina at the 3 and 6 month mark look beautiful!

I still really like the fit and the feel of the Apple Leather cases, but if you're looking for a good patina, look elsewhere. They don't age like the iPhone X era anymore.

Is there anyone out there with both a Bullstrap and an Andar who prefers the Andar?

I had Andar for a second before I packed it back for a return. Leather feels very thin compared to BS. Super slippery out of the box unlike BS. Overall to me BS is much better.

Andar leather isn’t thin - you can see in the photo above a I managed to cut totally through it in a mishap with a recliner frame.
It’s thicker than it appears.
Andar is also full grain, Bullstrap isn’t full grain.

You are right about BS isn’t full grain. Full grain or not IMO BS feels better in my hand than Andar. I like the soft leather feel on the BS and to me it’s less slippery. Heck, even my two Cretanbull cases are full grain and I preferred the overall quality of BS.

In my opinion BS/ RL/ Cretanbull (only because leather around power is not wrap cleanly)/ Andar.

For those wondering, here is how the new Bullstrap Cloud color would patina. No clue how long it was used but gives a general idea.

--This was apparently one of their test cases they used to trial the color--
