My initial reaction was a recoil but the more I look at it the more I like it.Here my 1 day old Taupe leather case with manually applied "character"
Now it finally feels like Alcantara leather.
Used abrasive paper + tanning oil.
Looks grey and not as blueish as on this photo.

“We will call you, Zatara.”It looks like a piece of drift wood.
Wish it stayed that colourGot my Midnight Blue I think the last time I had this color was when the iPhone 6s Plus came out
After trying a couple of "Amazon" cases, I decided to go with an Apple leather case. This is my first time owning one. Got it delivered yesterday. Let's see how it ages.
Geez that is beautiful! I wish my cases would start to show some age. The only case so far that’s aged is my Nomad rugged case.01/16/2019:

I’ll never understand this. The only thing that I dislike about the Apple leather case is the fact that there is an opening where the charger/speakers are which means that that side of the phone is not protected and open to scratches.
If you have a white iPhone with the silver/stainless steel sides, surface scratches in the metal can be buffed out with Cape Cod cloths back to a perfect shine. Don’t use them on the gold or black phones though, they’ll take the color right off.The only thing that I dislike about the Apple leather case is the fact that there is an opening where the charger/speakers are which means that that side of the phone is not protected and open to scratches.
If you want full coverage and a leather case your best bet is a Nomad rugged case. All the leather cases that I’ve purchased are all exposed at the bottom of the phone. The only thing that I dislike about the Apple leather case is the fact that there is an opening where the charger/speakers are which means that that side of the phone is not protected and open to scratches.

AwesomeMy iPhone XS just slipped out of my hand while walking down two flights of concrete stairs.. it literally bounced off of every step all the way down and only cracked my screen protector. This was the first time I dropped my phone and my heart almost stopped lol.![]()
Wow. Just wow. That is one amazing patina. Just beautiful. I’m only about 2 months into my Saddle Brown. I’m finally committed to it and that’s the color I am hoping to get.01/16/2019:

I’ll never understand this.
Are you going to keep the phone forever?
Probably not. Why do a few scratches matter?
I ran my X for a year on an Apple Leather Case, no scratches and have now been running my XS Max in one for 3 months, still no scratches.

In my "case", pun intended, I sell my phone to offset the cost my new phone, so for me, condition is an important factor. My phones are generally in pristine condition when I sell them so I'm able to get my price for them.I’ll never understand this.

A month and a bit on and the case has darkened a bit - not massively. My Forest Green case arrived today - delighted with it- it’s basically brand new! Doesn’t even look like it’s been used. The picture below makes it appear lighter than it is. Love how it almost appears different shades of green in different lights.
Let’s see how this ages - hoping for a nice deep green.
A bargain for £35
