Returned the Nomad, did not like the TPU sides.

Received the Mujji, wow it's amazing. It's actually the same length etc as the Apple silicone case which IMO is slim.

Pretty happy with it. The back camera piece is large though which is a bummer, but it feels good, smells good. Buttons are good.

Is this your first Mujjo? I'm curious if they have improved their leather quality. I had them for my 6s, XR and 11 and it was all garbage leather. I'm actually fairly convinced it was vegan leather but they say it wasn't. Kinda swore off them after the 11 but if things have improved I'd be open to looking at them again as the fit was good.

Question for people who have used the Bullstrap warranty: Do you know if you have to get the same color? Or can you get a different color case? I love the bourbon color but I'm wondering if the patina with age would get too dark and make the case seem black.

One more question: Can you feel the logo in practice? I wonder if it would be bothersome. Thanks in advance!

First one yes. Honestly I only have Apple, Nomad and Mujji to compare. I feel the leather was better on the Nomad but this one isnt bad IMO. I still prefer Apples haha, yeah the leather sucked but that fit was perfect

I would think it has to be the same case and color but hoping someone else can confirm. Would be nice to swap colors but doubtful

I would also like to know this. Can't personally confirm since I haven't use their warranty but this is what their site says:

"All product replacements are for the identical SKU as the initial purchase. Lifetime warranty replacements for cosmetic “defects'' on all other products (except iPhone cases) are expressly excluded - full grain leather is designed to take a beating and we believe these “defects” add to the character of the product."

I just bought this "leather" case on eBay and am wondering- does anyone with experience on these Chinese cases know if this is real leather or cactus leather or just synthetic?

While counter to this thread (sorry) I'm kind of hoping it's not real leather as I like it as it is and wouldn't want it to age or patina, I'd be fine if it's synthetic. Thanks.
Black can’t patina anyway.

…….. It most definitely can 😂😂😂
It can develop character, in the form of wear and tear. It cannot develop patina which is differences in color depending on how you use it. Black will stay black, whereas for example saddle brown will patina into a darker brown with certain areas like corners being the most dark.

Yes it definitely does patina. The word 'Patina' isn't juast changing colour ffs.

Did you even read the article you linked? The 6 "reasons" why is just 6 factors of high quality leather. To me patina is something distinctly visible showing clear signs of how/where it has been used. Scratches and dings ain't patina, you can scratch and ding everything but everything cannot patina. While black leather can show a developed character by for example becoming more shiny because you literally wore the leather down, I do not call that patina. You can make corrected grain more shiny by wearing it down as well, does not make it patina.

I most certainly did. What you determine patina and what patina actually is, is subjective. You’re deciding what to define patina as so it’s your personal opinion.

So can black leather patina? Black leather will patina and its patina will generally be a lot more pronounced when compared to other light-colored leather goods. However, the quality of patina you will get, how long it will take to appear, and its specific characteristics will all depend on certain factors like the type of black leather, and where it’s sourced.

Anyway. I’m not arguing about bloody phone cases and leather 😂😂

Yes you can google "can black leather patina". But can you back up your own copy&paste from google? Can you back up this claim that black leather patina is "a lot more pronounced" than lets say saddle brown? That is what you just copy&pasted.

Show me pictures. This is after all a thread for "patina proud photos".

Google will always show you what you want to hear, if you are selective enough with what search results you read.

Yall both are right just in different ways lol.

Technically black leather does patina, it just isn’t really as noticeable especially on a phone case. Under inspection you’ll def notice the changes to how the leather feels, any markings and the actual day 1 color won’t be the same, but to a regular person it’ll still just be a black phone case that probably still looks the same

Anyone have any luck/movement from the second wave of bullstap cases? Surprised there aren’t any videos on YouTube with the cases for the 15 pros

Yep.

Black leather does patina. You may not necessariy 'see it' but it does, by defintion, patina.

If genuine leather and used, it doesnt retain the same out the box condition, forever.

I want the "this is me" feeling when I look at a piece of leather and how it has developed and changed in appearance over time. I can't get that from black leather because I can't readily and easily see it.

See this picture as an example. Yes the black leather looks worn, even worn out in some corners, but it hasn't aged. Technically it has aged because it has gotten older, but that is not what I mean with "aged". I mean aged in a more developed/transitioned sense, not just plainly gotten older.

I just received the Wiiuka Skiin case. The touch is more similar to some kind of suede texture... I'm not sure whether it will develop a patina over time or if the leather will end up getting damaged at the corners and areas that experience the most wear with use.

In my case, the lip around the cameras is too big for the magsafe stand I have in my desktop and bedroom.

I have tried to show the look of the natural titanium and the case, which I think no one showed before. Sorry my screen protector has so much dust, it is not the best I have had !

P.S: It is a really beautiful case that looks gorgeous with the natural titanium BTW !

P.P.S: Bought it at Amazon.de , which ships to all Europe.

Anyone know about the company bandwerk ? I'm looking for a good leather case for the iphone 15 Pro max.

Looks good but would like to hear from an actual user.
I have pre ordered one but it is saying 5-6 weeks for delivery. I have had other products from Bandwerk before and they all were top notch.

How it will age and patina depends on what kind of leather it is. If it is full grain that they slightly buffed up to create this velvety/nubuck feeling, which actually makes it not full grain anymore, then it will patina but will also become "flat" as it gets worn down and lose all nubuck feeling. For this reason I would never buy suede/nubuck on something that constantly gets rubbed all over.

If it is "split suede", which basically means full grain "untouched" leather split in half and bottom half, the worse part, gets used for the case, it will not patina and look quite shiny after a while.

I don't really know what kind of leather it is... opinions?

I love my ink Apple case. It looks fantastic with the space black 14PM and you just can’t beat the fit. The fact that they’re not making them anymore is a big contributor to my not upgrading this year.

Exact same for me! I know it’s just a case, but it fits the phone the best. Do the lighter colors age well, not really, but you can beat the fit and thinness.

Apple cost themselves my upgrade, and I believe like us many didn’t want to upgrade.
