I imagine they’re losing A LOT of sales because of it. I know quite a few people who had bullstrap cases on previous phones and I’m the only one I know of who ordered one for the 15. A lot of people don’t want to throw $80+ at a case they may or may not receive for 40+ days after the 15 release date. Bullstrap really screwed up with their product release.
Yep, I ordered from a different brand. Partly because I don't want the wait, but mainly because I don't want to pay their insane prices again. Hope the wait is worth it for you.

So I just got the Bullstrap case for the iPhone 14 PM. It’s good, but as I stated before the texture is a bit different than I am use to. It was suggest to get leather cream. Will that darken the case? I don’t want it any darker without natural patina.

Really wish Bullstrap had planned their case release better and had product to ship. May end up cancelling my order and just keeping my Pitaka case.
They did not have confirmed dimensions beforehand. So the first batch they had was basically made on leaked specs.

If the leather is dry then yes it will darken it because dried leather is lighter in color. If the leather is well hydrated then the conditioner will only darken it briefly, during the period the leather is a bit wetter from the creme itself.

Test it first on a corner or other semi hidden area.

It is weird isn't it. Its like they get caught off guard by the release and never have product ready. The have got to be losing sales because of it. There are other good options out there that are ready to go and have been for a while.
Sure and those cases are based on leaked specs, not confirmed specs, and likely a bit extra leeway due to this. That is how you get a case with a too large camera cutout, for example.

Thanks! Ok, I guess worst case the lifetime warranty will help.

Maybe it’s just me because I ordered an Andar Aspen as well, and it feels very similar. Neither are like the Apple leather, but maybe they aren’t suppose to be? I would have just expected smoother.

Can't help you there because I have only owned leather cases from apple. I have ordered a Ryan London though, will see how I like that one.

I will say however that a likely explanation is calf and cow. All my shoes, as with all quality dress shoes, are made of calf leather, which is silky smooth just like an apple leather case. It would not surprise me if case manufacturers use cow leather, which in terms of smoothness is way way worse.

Aww, let me know what you think of the Ryan London. People here swear by these Bullstrap and Andar and say they are silky smooth. Maybe they will get that way with use?

Aren’t the RL made from the same leather as BS and Andar?

Don't know about Andar, but BS uses chrome tanned leather and RL uses vegetable tanned leather.

Oh ok. Well dang probably got the wrong case.

Are you searching for a case for the 15 pro?
Nothing wrong with chrome tanned leather, just different properties. Chrome tanned leather tends to be softer (bendy) than vegetable tanned leather, but worse at developing a patina. Vegetable tanned is stiffer and since the tanning process takes insanely much longer than chrome tanned the color also sits deeper (if aniline dyed).

Vegetable tanned are generally more expensive and also less negative impact on the environment because it isn't tanned with chrome.

Yes I have a 15 pro.

Oh ok, didn’t know all that.

I haven’t upgraded because I have not found a case that matches the smoothness of the Apple leather case. I know the Patina sucks, but it just feels so good in the hand.

The old apple leather cases were king and developed an amazing patina. Then they messed around and ruined their leather cases, probably by cutting costs.

Carl Friedrik, called Oppermann back then, used to make iphone leather cases that were just as buttery smooth as the ones from apple.

So just looked on the box and it says top grain leather. These are supposed to be to be full grain correct? Maybe the issue with the case.

Bullstrap website says full-grain (pic #1), yet Bullstrap box says top-grain (pic #2)

Which is it?

Yeah the Apple leather case for the iPhone X in saddle brown was the best Apple leather case ever. Trying to find something similar to this day.

Bullstrap, Ryan London still on preorder.

YMW and such like on Ali Express who sell virtually exactly the same cases still not up for sale.

Coincidence? I think not. 😉

I have the Mujjo, I like the thinness but not a fan of the leather quality. How does the Ryan London compare in thickness/bulk?
