I agree. Apple leather cases were an automatic buy for me, even when they changed to a manufacturing process that didn't patina and wore pretty ugly. They still fit perfectly and felt nice.
I ordered 5 cases and fit, leather quality, and features are just not all there.
For me, Andar is the winner and I will be 100% happy when I receive the newer action button version. I don't mind the extra thickness because it's a bit more protection and it shows the leather is probably the full grain they are advertising. A thinner case is more likely to be a thin layer of leather than will not hold up or patina. I would hold fire on Bullstrap until they confirm what the disconnect is between their packaging and their site, but if they are selling top grain at that price thats a no go. I know some people prefer the open bottom, but that's not for me.
I wish Apple would re-introduce their new "eco friendly" leather cases next year....made from the hides of all the cows we are going to eat anyway around the world....
But still, having a case that has even better leather has been a plus for me as I enjoy the way it feels in hand more than Apple's and even more than the bare titanium.
Yeah I agree on almost all that.
So the Andar, I didn’t mind the thickness that much, I guess it just didn’t seem that it had just that perfect polish of fit like Apple, but I think it’s the closest thing we have. What color did you get?
As for the leather from Apple, the thing that makes no since to me is that leather product is there whether Apple uses it or not. They haven’t stopped anything by not having leather in their product lines. I don’t know how this helps the environment at all. I will spare my feelings about their environmental stance here, but this one really makes zero sense.
At the very least, just get rid of Finewoven and bring some kind of premium material back that actually is worth having in a case.
