Anyway, I'm happy with my case.

To bring this back on topic to the nature of this thread, here is the patina on my 11PM forest green leather case Day 1 vs Now. I rotated through several cases so this is probably about 2 years worth of use. Out with the old, in with the new...
That green looks amazing.

So are the Keyway leather cases newer to the scene? I haven't paid attention to cases much the last two years because I've been happy with the official Apple leather case on my 13 pro, but I am sorely missing that option after upgrading to the 15 Pro. The Keyway whiskey case looks great and checks all my boxes. I'm just surprised there's so little out there on them. Nothing on youtube, and only a couple more recent posts here and on reddit.

They have been around a while but the current leather case is a relatively new design. I think this style is only for the 13s and up. Prior to that they just did plastic cases with a leather back that were not very good. As shown in this video.

The new ones are fantastic. I stand by my statement that this is the leather Apple used to use before the 12’s. this is the best leather case I’ve had and my prior one was a Bullstrap.

Ryan London saddle brown case for iPhone 15PM came in today. Very happy with it - feels quality and the open bottom is reminiscent of the Apple leather case I had for iPhone X.

Couple quick questions:
- Can AppleCare+ fix the nick/dent on the camera ring shown in third photo?
- How much patina to expect? And would something like neatsfoot oil help speed up patina so I can get it to match the wallet/airpods case in 4th photo?

These cases patina pretty quick as it is. I personally wouldn’t be trying to rush that process.

Re: AppleCare fixing your camera
AppleCare+ likely won’t fix your phone, it would just be replaced. You’ll need to pay the damage deductible ($99?).
I personally use mail advanced replacement or take your phone to a store for a swap if they have that replacement phone in stock (not retail stock). If not, they’ll ship your phone.
Since this phone was just released, I’d do mail advanced replacement. They’ll put a charge hold on your credit card until they receive the phone. It ships next day air via FedEx.

I'm a fan of Apple's leather cases, and like everyone else, have been researching alternatives for my 15 Pro. After reading through the last several pages in this thread, I am no less confused about the options. It really sucks that Apple chose to discontinue their leather cases.

Between the options, I was leaning towards the Andar Aspen given the many positive reviews and colour options. They're also offering quite an attractive discount for pre-orders at the moment. But some of you have complained of the leather discolouring MagSafe accessories and the leather being too thick. Maybe I missed it, but I didn't see any photos to support these claims. Are you just repeating what others have said or is this first hand experience?

For now, I will continue to wait. I'm liking the FineWoven case more than I thought I would. It's certainly not perfect but there is something to be said about the preciseness of fit, cutouts and buttons with Apple's first party cases. My only minor gripe is I'm finding the sides of the case a little slippery. I might get an Apple silicone case at some point. Although I generally find the silicone cases to be a bit thick, when I compared them with the FineWoven cases at the Apple Store, they actually looked pretty close. I wonder if they made them thinner this year?

Oh, btw – I'd have a Ryan London 15 ProMax and AirPodsPro2 for sale, 39€ for the case plus package (it's in Germany at the moment), not decided on the APP2 yet, but also less than new (both are not used)

Does anyone here owns this YMW case? It looks identical to Bullstrap/RL without the logo.
Aliexpress YMW

I bought the Crazy Horse version with black camera protection and now kinda regret not going for this one lol
I bought the Crazy Horse version awhile back as well and regret not getting this one too lol. I went ahead and got a Bullstrap instead but am also curious about this YMW case, too.

Did you acquire this nick while the RL case was on? Just curious.

I think Apple had a great fitting case, but the patina on the leather was completely ass. I had to get the ink color way last year to hide how bad the brown cases looked. I think folks are over romanticizing Apples leather cases lol

For folks that have used RL or bullstrap previously, did you experience the patina or impression of a MagSafe circle if you used any MagSafe products? I want to use some accessories but Im nervous of how it'll end up making the case look.

thx!

Any European fellow who tried Pack and Smooch leather cases?
Branding looks like crap and they call their leather "genuine leather" and "high quality leather" which is a huge red flag. If they were proud of their material choice they would flaunt it like everyone else.

In the market for a black leather case. Andar, Bare Case, or Keyway?
Nobody has the bare case yet as it was just released yesterday. I’ll have mine next week and can post some impressions. For andar vs Keyway, Keyway is a little thinner and lighter so I prefer it. Andar has no branding and more color options. Both have excellent leather, good buttons and fit the phone very well. Magnets are pretty strong on both as well.

Edit: I also didn’t like how high the lip was on the andar.

They have a picture on their webpage showing patina after 200 days. Can't speak for the accuracy though, mine got stuck in customs so still have not been able to feel it and judge the leather.

It will look show up. This ring isn’t even from MagSafe charging. It’s from the MagSafe phone holder for the car.
