Leather Cases - Patina Proud Photos

Well my 15PM was delayed a day and didn’t show up until today but it’s awesome and so is the Keyway. The leather is very smooth/slick similar to the older 11 series and down apple leather cases. It fits really tight to the phone and all the buttons are great. I wish it didn’t have the branding on the back but I don’t hate it. Another thing is the leather aroma isn’t very strong but overall happy with it.

I have a screen protector on it and it still has a lip similar to an apple leather case and the camera lip is raised above and metal.
I got the YMW crazy horse leather case a few days back and am pretty disappointed with it. The case initially looked and felt great, had a good leather smell.
However, I noticed this thing is rubbing dye off everywhere. My hands are stained yellow from using this case normally. I do have sweaty hands, but this is ridiculous. My fingertips are still stained yellow/orange. It’s especially bad when my hands are still damp from washing them and I pick up my phone. I took a damp paper towel and rubbed it on the case to test and the entire paper towel turned a nasty yellow orange, like the dye wasn’t sealed in or something.
I’ve only had a nomad modern leather and an old Apple leather case before and they’ve never rubbed any color off before. Is this expected behavior from this kind of leather?

Damn, that’s not good. Haven’t seen anyone else report that for the crazy horse. I would definitely request a new one/refund.
Yes. The Crazy Horse one does that. I had a blue one for my 14 Pro Max and it turned my MagSafe charger blue. That was the only issue with my case. Other than that, it was a great case.
Ah thanks for letting me know, sounds like this is just the way these cases are. I could live with it staining my MagSafe charger (which it has done too haha), but it’s really annoying and unsettling that it’s staining my hands too
How long before the YouTube premier videos go up for regular viewing? Still really considering the Ghost but I’ve gotta be certain because it’s going to be really hard to top my ink Apple leather.

Really hoping these cases are similar to the Apple Leather that I've used since iPhone 5. Mostly hoping it's close to as thin.

Thanks for the response! It almost reminds me of when people would put circular objects in the back pocket of raw denim to get the pocket fade lol
To be honest I’m on the fence about selling it. I really like the case but it’s a little looser than I’d like.
No I did not, went naked for a while before it came in and that’s how the nick occurred(and considering going back to naked - seems that leather cases add considerable bulk to what’s already a large 15PM)
Yes I did see that but have a feeling/hoping that it will patina considerably darker based than what RL posted online. Just based off personal experience and what I’m seeing from forums.
Was hoping others may have had experience darkening an RL or similar case but may just email them to see what they recommend

I’ve got a Nomad Horween case on my 11Pro, I’ll upload photos soon. Here is my green apple leather case with umber wallet on my 14Pro. I’ve also recently got an umber case for it and the patina is starting to slowly appear at the edges. I’ve also got a Nomad black Horween case on for my 14Pro but the patina just doesn’t show on the black.

Here’s my Nomad Horween Leather Case on my 11Pro. It was about 18 months old at that point, next to the brand new Nomad Horween Leather AirTag Keyring in the same colour.

Get a product such as Saphir Stop Color and you're fine. It's a bad product for behaving like this, but if you like the case otherwise it's a cheap way to fix it.
Bullstrap Bourbon iPhone 14 pro max, 2 months later watch band is an ostrich quill leather.
That's not a good type of patina, that is a full blown colour change
