Leather Cases - Patina Proud Photos

Anyone tried the leather cases from Clayton and Crume recently? The price tag is higher than most other leather case brands, so I got curious on how it performs compared to other cases.
Looks like their case is just like every other one. But $95? Bloody hell, that is disgusting. They have leather from Horween tannery, so they will perform the exact same as most other cases in here in terms of durability and aging. The only thing setting it apart is the tacky looking initials that you cannot opt out of paying for.
The solid-brass buttons look interesting, but indeed the price tag is very high and I am having trouble finding real (leather related) differentiators to explain $95.
Interested to see what they say. I wish I would’ve purchased the dark brown instead of saddle, if they have a recommendation for darkening it I might give it a try!
Definitely not over romanticizing the Apple leather case. I for one just haven’t found a case that fits like the Apple leather case. The patina wasn’t great all, but that didn’t stop it from being the best fit and finish with buttons and cutouts. I just don’t think there ever be a leather case like it. No one is willing to sacrifice the time to thin the leather out like Apple did.
Ordered the cinnamon color. Their marketing photos look great, but will see how it fares in person

I have returned the Lonli Edition. It never showed any chance of patining in 3.5 weeks. I am interested in seeing what people think of the Bare Cases case. None of the other cases appeal to me at all. I hate the open bottom of the BS and RL cases and I won’t be happy with that stupid X on the Keyway.
why not try Andar, Mujjo or others that were posted in this forum?

In my patina experience:
- dark brown became near black (nomad horween rustic brown).
- Saddle brown became near dark brown (apple saddle brown leather for iPhone 6, X)
I tried the Mujjo first and did not like it. I just don’t like the Andar with those black buttons and camera ring. The branding on the Decoded is a turnoff for me too.
Approx. ten days in the grey YMW Nappa. Starting to see some signs of use/patina creeping through. No darkening where dye would come off but actual wear like a car’s interior would, the edges of the case are starting to smooth out. Really soft to the touch.
Annoying that the crappy iPhone 12 Pro picks up the case in such a light colour. Its darker than this in person

My YMW Nappa in blue should hopefully arrive this week.
I am hoping that it fits my needs. I really liked the Lonli Classic Nappa but due to the misaligned Magnets it is unusable for me. I wrote Lonli on IG and they issued a refund no questions asked. But they also told me they don`t know how many faulty Cases are at the Amazone Warehouse and it is 50:50 Chance to get a good one so by bets are on the YMW.
I really like my blue decoded but I love nappa leather. Other than that my current Dedoced Leather case is awesome.

You should have been denied that return. You also don't understand patina.
Yeah unfortunately this seems to be the case with the unsaturated bare leather used for cases today. Not how it's supposed to be if you look at real patina on proper leather goods.
Curious how yours is holding up. Does it have any color transfer like others have experienced in this thread?
Then i know what I have to not look forward to. Damn shame.
It is absolutely ridiculous that people count patina in days and weeks, what has this instant gratification world come to? Patina used to and should be counted in years not weeks.
You didn't work for that patina, it is worth nothing.
Hard to count patina in years (with phone cases) when so many people upgrade their phones every 12 months now 😂

def a great fit, but the cases ended up looking so ugly. I am not as demanding as some of you are when it comes to fit, or weight of the case, and all that lol I just like a good hand feel and something that isnt really heavy. The silicone case Im coming from makes the iPhone 15 feel so cheap so that was a no go. Hopefully you're able to hunt down a good replacement soon
