That’s great! Might have to pick one up to replace my crazy leather one. Curious why you didn’t try the Lonli classic case since it looks visually very similar + the both claim to use leather from the same Italian tannery.

As to why my crash horse case stains, not sure if it’s a manufacturing defect or if this is expected behavior. Did some googling and it seems like some color transfer on light clothing could be expected, but idk, my hands were super orange just from using it formally, even after a few days, especially around my fingertips. Seems unlikely to me that most ppl would tolerate this level of color transfer.
Lonli don’t do a grey one

I asked YMW in TaoBao and they said this case would not get any patina, or very very minimal. And they said only the crazy horse case will get patina.

This grey case looks really but not patina is kind of meh for me. I really want a grey leather with patina.
Depends what you want from a case really.

Nappa is more long standing and less prone to quick wear, especially darkening wear; hence why it’s used in car interiors.

I wanted a grey leather case, that’s actual leather that does wear/patina but slowly and without turning black. I ‘think’ this nappa case will tick those boxes.

Ryan London saddle brown case for iPhone 15PM came in today. Very happy with it - feels quality and the open bottom is reminiscent of the Apple leather case I had for iPhone X.

Couple quick questions:
- Can AppleCare+ fix the nick/dent on the camera ring shown in third photo?
- How much patina to expect? And would something like neatsfoot oil help speed up patina so I can get it to match the wallet/airpods case in 4th photo?
Mine arrived today, did you notice the magsafe animation when you put the case on?

Has anyone actually bought from bare cases before?

How’s the quality?
I ordered one yesterday. It says it will ship in 3-5 days and shipping is 4-7 days. I think I saw someone say their customer service was slow but they have been very responsive on Instagram for me.

I actually ordered one on the 28th and I haven’t heard anything since and I haven’t heard anything from them on insta.

But saying that, I ordered on a weekend so I’m not expecting any movement till next week

You know it’s not too late to put that kid up for adoption. Just kidding, I’m sure you have a wonderful child. And the case still looks good even after it’s war scars.
We tried to return him but he was past the 90 return period 😆
That’s one of the great things about leather is the surface scratches heal up. Now I just have to pay close attention to where I set my phone down.

I ordered on the 27th and got an order confirmation but no shipping confirmation yet. I messaged them on FB because I hadn’t received the preorder coupon and they responded in a few minutes.

Has anyone bought one of the Grams28 leather cases yet? They look fantastic on their site, but would love to hear about the quality durability in real life.

Still don’t understand how this and and the Nomad can be called leather cases. They just have a leather back. The case is TPU.

I so much prefer the TPU edges. I’ve dropped both on the floor and the full leather ones get destroyed around the edges.

I don't believe anyone here has it. I was curious about it too, but I think the branding is just too much for people.

What did they say? Any word on how long it would take to ship your order?

The same could be said about most of the leather cases on the market, including Apple's. Most are a very thin veneer of leather wrapped over polycarbonate or some other substrate. It's just more obvious with cases like the Nomad where the structural portion of the case is visible.

Almost every case on the market is a TPU shell wrapped in leather. I will agree with that. The difference being the other wrap the entire case in leather. Everything you touch is leather. With the Nomad, it’s just the back. They still charge like the entire case is leather.

The Nomad leather case is actually a polycarbonate frame with a TPU coating, which is significantly more protective than most leather cases. Back in the day, the Apple case was simply paper thin leather wrapped over some type of fiberboard. Those cases provided far less protection and many of the knockoffs are still made that way. In my opinion they both qualify as “leather” cases, but they’re targeting very different use cases. Horses for courses, as they say…

So, when those leather cases take a tumble, how do you folks handle the whole bump and damage situation caused by the fall?

If I'm going for a leather case, I'd prefer it to be tough against drops because I'm a bit on the clumsy side. Those fully wrapped ones seem like they'd be prone to slipping from my grasp.

I asked about the dates on the website showing ships nov 6-15 and they said:
“Hey Matt, that is for the 2nd batch, we are working hard to get your cases out faster than the stipulated ship dates. 👍🏼”
