How is open bottom an issue for people? How can it dig into your pinky? I don't understand that.
Not sure if everyone holds the phone the same, but when I have my phone in one hand, my pinky rest on the bottom of the case and phone almost over the lighting or USB C port. The open bottom cases like Bullstrap and Ryan London have a lip on the back that hangs over. With the weight of the phone resting on the pinky, that lip causes pain over time. Make sense?

Just received my Keyway cases in Whiskey and Charcoal (Pro Max). I have been using Apple Leather since iPhone 5 to 14 and have never had issues with them.

The most important factor for me is thinness. The Keyway is thicker than Apple. It's not a lot but it's noticeable. I've added my Orange iPhone 14 Pro Max for comparison purposes.

First impressions are the leather looks good, MagSafe seems strong. I have received some DMs about the Charcoal, it's more or less black. I wanted Slate but it was sold out.

Will try it out today and give a more in depth review in a few days. Let me know if you have any questions.

Welcome to the Keyway club. I'm about 3 weeks in on mine and still loving it. No complaints so far.

Just goes to show you don't have to have any actual qualifications to have a Youtube channel. People will just blindly trust Youtube.
I am not blindly trusting anyone on youtube. Clearly wasn't saying I was trusting this guy. He is simiply sharing his opinion, which can be helpful for others. I do not understand the hate.

So far trying to saturate the leather is working great. Ryan London uses some very dry leather, it is very thirsty. It is very clear they use lower grade leather, from all the wrinkles. Nothing wrong with it though, doesn't make it lower quality. Their price isn't premium, so the leather isn't premium either. But as mentioned, it is painfully obvious that the leather has been stored for a long time, it is very dry. That's not RL's fault though, they probably have no idea how long the leather they buy has been laying on shelves. I have treated it with balm 5 times now, a little each time and plenty of resting time in between, and it shows no signs of being full yet. Surprising how much it can absorb for being a relatively thin piece of leather. The feeling of the leather has changed drastically and now, apart from the obvious wrinkles/creasing, it is as soft and smooth as the old apple leather cases as well as high quality calf leather dress shoes.

Yeah I wondered about the Mujjo, but so many people here say that leather is trash.

Same with the Ryan London. Since I have the PM and use my pinky, open button with the thick lip does not work. I don’t know how people hold their phones to make it comfortable.
I use the Ryan London occasionally with my pro max and have had no pinky discomfort.

Interesting, cause the BS sure did. I used it for a couple of days, and it was pretty bad for me.
I hold my phone like this, depending on how leaned forward I am and if I need to really hold it or just have it leaning on my palm. Zero discomfort.

I got the YMW Nappa leather in grey today and it's as good, possibly better, than I was hoping it would be. The leather is buttery smooth with super clicky buttons. For $30 it's an absolute bargain for how good it is. I'm not concerned whether or not it's real Nappa leather because it just feels so good anyways. It's also a beautiful match with a natural titanium phone. Both the color of the leather and gunmetal buttons are perfect.

Even on my 13 pro I found the open bottom cases extremely uncomfortable on the pinky. I haven’t used one since the 11pro.

And the Apple leather case with the open bottom didn’t have as much of an over hang. It was very comfortable on the pinky. Much thicker case means that over hang is greater.

What are you using to condition it?

I saw this a couple weeks ago and I almost ordered the Mujjo since it was the thinnest but apparently their leather quality is not great from all the reviews I’ve seen. I wish he would have weighed each case. The Ryan London looks nice but I use my phone one handed and can’t do the lip digging into my pinky.
It’s not that the leather isn’t great, it’s just Mujjo puts so damn much coating on there.

That was my experience with Mujjo too. The coating ruins the case. Otherwise it could have been a winner.

I wonder if it could be removed with an alcohol wipe. I was wanting to try out the burgundy but it’s not on Amazon anymore and I don’t even see it on their website. Not sure why they removed it.

I have a mujio that i was going to return as it had leather back and TPU sides. Before i even hot to try it they returned my $ because the mags safe charger did not work.

I had a Mujjo a couple years ago that I tried to remove the coating on. The coating was quiet thick and under it was dark brown leatherish material. It was not a good look at all. It was a garbage case.

Lonli Edition is crap. Worse than the classic last year. The Edition over a month in now just gets greasy and gross feeling and does not feel like real leather. No patina whatsoever. Already got a refund.

Only way to remove it is with acetone, but then, depending on how they colored the leather, the color might come with. Usually with such coatings the color is in that thin layer of plastic coating.
