@Bare Cases is this within spec?

Sorry to see the action button on your case is a little off from where it's supposed to be.

The Bare Skin case is pretty much hand assembled. The leather is stretched over the case, cutouts for the buttons punched, then buttons installed. As the leather "relaxes" after being stretched, this can pull the buttons off alignment a bit (our craftsmen do their absolute best to ensure the best alignment possible for each case during assembly, plus, the Action Button being so small makes alignment a PITA). This is also evident even on Apple's leather cases. Here's one where the "volume down" button is slightly slanted:

All that being said, your case is definitely NOT WITHIN SPEC. We apologise for this, and this will be replaced.

"Within spec" would be like this:

Please drop me a DM with your order number, and I'll forward your case to customer service. Once again, apologies your case isn't as up to standard as it should be. We truly appreciate your support.

Sorry we've been a little busy the past week chasing our logistic partners to expedite your shipments. We're going into peak holiday shopping season with many businesses engaging in early bird sales, hence postal services are kinda swamped right now, leading to longer than usual transit times.

Is your Keyway grippier than the Bullstrap case? I’m about a month into my Bullstrap and still find it rather slippery.
I've had my Keyway for about a week, the back is still quite slippery, but the sides are getting much better with use. Overall, I like it. The buttons could use a bit of chamfering, but not bad. Fits great, looks fantastic.

Edit: One other thing, don't fret over the lack of "leather smell" when it comes out of the box new. It take a bit of time for that aspect to kick in. Now, it's got a great smell to it! Ha!!!

Nice reply, Bare Cases. When do you anticipate that new brown will be available?

I just got my Tortora Bare Skin case, and I wanted to share my initial impressions and ask for some feedback, particularly from @Bare Cases or anyone who has used this case. First off, I love the color and the leather quality is excellent – it feels premium and fits my device snugly. The Magsafe compatibility is as expected, no issues there. I did notice that my action button is slightly off-center, but it's not a significant concern for me.

However, my main issue lies with the buttons. The edges on these are unexpectedly sharp. I'm talking about the kind of sharp that feels like I could actually cut my finger if I applied enough pressure. This level of sharpness seems unusual for a case.

@Bare Cases, should the buttons be this sharp? Looking forward to hearing back and seeing if this is a common issue or something unique to my case.

Thanks in advance for any insights!

that case looks so sharp it will cut you.

To clarify a bit more on my original concern about the sharpness of the buttons on my Bare Skin case: I might have been a bit overzealous in my description. While the buttons are indeed sharp, it's unlikely they would actually cut someone. When I run my finger along the top or bottom edge of the buttons, their sharpness is quite pronounced.

My history of Apple leather cases/nomad/keyway

Slate grey for iPhone X - used from new for 18 months

Forest Green for iPhone 11 pro - used from new for 12 months

Saddle brown for iPhone 12 Pro max - forced patina used for 12 months

Dark cherry for iPhone 13 Pro - forced patina used for 8 months

Golden brown for iPhone 13 mini - forced patina used for 18 months

Nomad Rustic brown horween for iPhone 15 pro max - forced patina as rustic brown was too dark to begin with used alcohol to lighten to English tan colour the used from day one to present as it’s my everyday work case

Keyway full leather in whiskey for iPhone 15 pro max - 1 week old will not be doing any forced patina on this case as I’m very happy with the colour and quality of leather, will be using it for weekend only as I have my nomad which is more suitable for work

As you can see I’m very sad Apple got rid of their leather cases and wallets, fine woven will never be a replacement for the way the genuine Apple leather cases felt and fit

Anyways enjoy the patina!
Still have the 13 mini case? I’d be interested in buying it from you. Send me a pm.

That's for the new one, the original model is in Jan 2024.
That would be the second batch, or is it third? Either way, shipping costs would be insane if they asked the factory to ship small batches as soon as they are finished. Only way is to let the factory work up a large amount and then ship them all at once to Ryan London.
