At this point you might as well wait for the 16 to see if you like it and what options are available. I think LC has had quite a bit of success this year with their 15 line up so changing the recipe is not likely in their cards. The old "if it ain't broke why fix it" should apply to them here.
Yes, but what if they go down the Apple road and see they can make it cheaper with worse leather? My issue is that I use the iUp plan and if I wait for the 16 and dont see anything I like, well the Apple Store takes all the 15 pros down. I sure dont want to try to get one from a carrier.

Hopefully, but maybe they see the need to change to make it cheaper and use less quality leather. Plus the rumored colors for the 16pro are absolutely terrible.
You'll be fine with the 16 Pro models - the colours wont be much different from now, only the blue rumoured to be rose gold. That still leaves black & natural both of which go with any colour case - and they may even keep blue as an option as well.

LuckyCoin won't use cheaper leather - they aren't a new company, just new to these forums they've been selling leather cases for years mostly the same albeit with a wallet built into the backside - don't worry about the new models.

Day two in the Luckycoin. Obviously no patina yet ha ha. But the leather has started softening. It was a bit dry on delivery as others have said but after just two days it’s softening and feels fantastic. I can now understand why @JerryIII compares this to his old X case. The LC really does feel like that generation of Apple case. I always remember the Apple case not feeling great out the box but then improving with use. This is the same feeling with the LC. So far this is by far the best of the iPhone 15 cases I have tried. Wish I had started with this case instead of wasting money on all those other cases. I almost think selling them on Amazon hurts sales because most of the cases on Amazon are trash… people probably assume the same is true with this case. I guess it’s up to the patina proud community to spread the good word. Ha ha
Like most of you, I've tried so many cases, and the LuckyCoin and Ryan London open-bottom were the two that rose to the top. Going forward, I'm going to try my best to buy only one or the other, but seeing all the amazing pics in here makes it really hard 😅

Thanks, just not a fan of the natural titanium color and black being boring. Those are the only ones I would choose.

Yeah hopefully LCs next model cases are just as good.

Got my bullstrap contemporary in yesterday and I’ve been using the lucky coin for about a week. These cases are so similar you really have to nitpick to discuss differences so here goes. Out of the box the bullstrap leather feels great, the lucky coin is a little dry. After some conditioner the lucky coin also feels really good and gets better after a few days use. I’ll probably use the bullstrap for a week and then compare.
Buttons are great on both but I’ll give bullstrap a slight edge as they are slightly easier to press. Both have nice clicky buttons but I would say bullstrap is on par with an Apple case. Both have buttons that protrude out more than the Apple cases, sorry Bmac.
Fit is great on both, maybe I got lucky but the bullstrap has no gap by the usb port, neither does the lucky coin. The bullstrap is tighter to the point it’s a little difficult to remove. The lucky coin fits great but you can see a little of the titanium around the sides while bullstrap is so tight you don’t see any. Not a big deal now but possibly in the future the lucky coin might be more prone to a corner popping out.
Weight is a wash, luckcoin is 32.1 grams and bullstrap is 32.7. I can’t tell a difference in .6 grams. Thickness is the same on both.
The thing I like about the luckcoin is how low the lip is around the screen. One thing I loved about the apple leather case was the lip was pretty much flush with a screen protector. The lucky coin isn’t as low as Apple but it’s the closest I’ve found. The bullstrap lip is slightly higher so I feel it more when swiping.
For looks it’s really close. I like the look of the luckycoin a little better because it has a little more variation in the grain pattern and no logo. I do think bullstrap does a good job with their logo and I don’t mind it but no branding is my preference.
MagSafe is strong on both but I will give the edge to lucky coin. The bullstrap is new and a little slippery so it might catch up with the lucky coin but I do notice my wallet shifts around more on the bullstrap.
I really don’t know which will go in my case box at this point. Both are excellent leather cases. I definitely would not pay $90 for the bullstrap but at $35 it was a good deal (I’m sure they still make money at that price). The lucky coin is impossible to beat at the price they sell it for.

Good review / comparison. I might add that for me the Luckycoin is a very snug fit. I assume there is likely some variance in each case with them being at least partially hand made.

Hahaha thanks for the shout out! I am now looking forward to getting home this afternoon and checking out the Bullstrap contemporary, not being able to get the LC for my 14PM. Sounds like I am gonna be well pleased.

Thanks for the comparison too, really detailed and informative.

It will be interesting to see if it can replace the apple leather case. I know if I still had the option I would be using an apple. If they just would have done a slate leather case to go with the titanium 15pro I would have bought that and never thought twice about another case.

Kind of off topic, but I think it should be said. This thread has got some awesome people in it. Just everyone sharing their leather case process, and enjoying everyone's else. I know in the past it has gotten heated, but over all just some really good people. Don't find that everywhere on here.

Yeah if Apple still had cases like the 11 leather cases, I dont think many here would be going else where. Maybe just maybe LC changes that and they become the standard. Maybe they will expand their color options with all the additional business from the 15 series.

Just me, if Apple still had any kind of leather, I would still probably choose that option. Just me though.

So just got my BS contemporary case out of the box and on my phone. Color me impressed. So I can’t remember who asked about lifetime warranty, but the case did come with the card in the box. My guess (but I hope not) is that they would just sent you the minimalist if you made a claim down the road. Who knows because I would like to think I could get another one of these.

Couple of things

- Color: seems a little darker than the minimalist sienna case I have. Not necessarily a bad thing, but I do prefer that more orange color in the minimalist sienna.

- Leather: oh wow this gives me iPhone X or 11 pro Apple leather vibes. Very soft not dry, feels and smells amazing. If the LC is anything like this, that’s a direction I would go in the future iPhone. Can’t wait to get some grip on it.

Slightly heavier than the Apple leather case, but it’s gonna keep me from using this for sure. Maybe switching between this and the Apple leather case in Ink. Haven’t found another leather case that would do that. I have tried a bunch too.

Thanks for whoever shared the link for the BS contemporary sale. Worth every penny of $35. I would be willing to pay $45 or $50 for this.

Like we saw in @mjpearce023's post earlier today the BS and LC are essentially the same case and probably same leather. Enjoy it! I think these ones are going to age nicely.

I don’t think that they are the same leather but definitely the same frame. The LC case has a marbled leather that I really like. The BS is more smooth. Also, the BS cases tend to patina much faster than the LC cases. I like the slow burn.

Finally got around to taking a pic of the new LC. A good reference photo for a few months down the road. View attachment 2406805

Great picture! Hopefully it will be a great process with the LC.

Still trying to get us to the BS. Slippery as expected, but the bulk is noticeable coming from the Apple leather. My power button seems to be a bit more protruding at the top of it. Weird, not sure what’s going on there. Hoping I get use to it. Forcing an entire weekend with it.

So anyone that came from the Apple leather case. Roughly how long did it take you to get use to the bulkier leather case like the LC or BS? Still a bit uncomfortable for holding it for an extended period of time.
