Question on the RL open bottom, are the buttons a consistent colour and finish? I was seeing inconsistencies with the closed bottom version.
AFAIK, they've always been black. My 15 Pro and 13 mini open-bottom ones both had black buttons. the buttons feel/look similar too if I remember correctly.
I think he means texture. I had a 16PM Ryan London closed bottom from the first batch and the volume up button was a glossy black while the volume down button looked matte
Yeah this! My RL closed bottom had matte buttons, but the volume up was glossy. They sent me another, but that’s when I got the Casebelle and just returned both.
It’s a nice case. Leather feels good. The logo around the camera kills it for me.
I’ve only had it a couple days, so can’t answer that question. I did have one a few years ago on I think my iPhone 12 Pro, and I believe it did patina, but a lot could have happened since then to the quality of leather they use.
I’m back to my Nomad case today. The logo on the Decoded annoys me every time I look at it. At least Nomad puts their logo on the side, and it’s pretty discreet. Their older cases had no logo, which was even better.

How do you find the case?
I have read it's not great and certainly not worth the price. Many also say the likes of Ryan London and Bullstrap are far better.
I like it. Downsides for me are it’s a little bulky and they have limited colors (black and shades of brown). The rubber on the sides makes it grippy, and the case is very protective against falls, etc. If you search my posts in this thread, I posted a pic of one that my son used and abused for several years.
Ive never had Bullstrap or RofL. Bullstrap, I dont like the logo, especially considering the price. I did bite the bullet and order one, but when they delayed until mid Dec, I cancelled my order. RofL has an inconspicuous logo on the side, which is nice, but they don’t make a dark blue case for the 16pro. If they do come out with one, I may consider getting it.

Do you have issues with your phone popping out from the corners of the case? That's another complaint I read about the Nomad leather case.
Are you sure you are thinking about Nomad? I’ve never experienced that (have had multiple nomad cases over the years, and my kids all have nomad cases on their phones), nor ever heard of anyone having that issue with Nomad. I remember hearing that complaint about some of the apple leather cases, maybe around iPhone 12 or 13, but really haven’t heard of that complaint for any case recently.
The open bottom is all matte. It’s RL’s baby, and they take the utmost care with these cases.
Because of a technical problem they can’t ship to NL. never heard of a company that didn’t offer a solution to make a sale. Strange behavior if you ask me….
Got my RL Black Open Bottom case today. Really nice leather and feel. I still am going to have to get used to the camera cutout. Is it supposed to not be centered in the cutout?

I know it’s hard to take a pic because I don’t have another camera than my iPhone.
I received my RL Dark Leather (open bottom) case for my 16 Pro today. I could smell the leather before I opened the inner package.
1) I had to sign for the package.
2) Well packaged with a thank you note inside along with Ryan’s business card (classy touch).
3) Leather case smells like genuine leather is supposed to.
4) Leather case (Dark color) looks great and feels good in hand.
5) Not as thick as BS case but, that is fine with me. It is still more than enough protection.
6) FineWoven wallet produces an audible chime when attached and shows the color of the case. That is the first time that has happened to me on a non-Apple case. Another quality touch.
7) CC cut out is a lot easier to use than the BS case.
I have a closed bottom (Dark Leather) on the way for the 16 Pro. I also ordered a closed bottom (Dark Leather) for a 16 Pro Max I order today (as well).
Product quality, customer service, and product availability were all A+ in my experience. RL won me over and given how things went with BS this year, I will continue to use RL moving forward. I am glad I didn’t wait 2+ months for a BS case.

Would love to see comparison pics between this one and the closed-bottom when you get it. And of course, keep us posted on how this patinas.
I will definitely post pictures. I expect the other case in the next day or so. I forgot to mention the RL case a more supple feel to it versus the BS case.
I have a closed-bottom RL in saddle brown and a black open-bottom RL. If you’d like to see some comparisons, I can bring the closed-bottom one out from my work drawer tomorrow.
