My updated Bullstrap Contemporary case came in today. Nice improvement over the original edition. No gap between the bottom of the phone and the case near the charging cutout. Cutouts are aligned much better. The camera bump now matches their open bottom case. Same with the buttons. Leather feels a smidge dryer and rougher than previous Bullstrap cases. This definitely feels and looks a lot closer the OG open bottom case we all know and (mostly) love.
I can’t wait for mine. still shipping 12/5 🙌🏻

I was really tempted to buy one today with the sale going on. But since I already have the Ryan London I figured I should wait until a Camera Control button version is released first.

Hi guys. Is this how the patina and the texture supposed to look? or I am doing something wrong here? I don't feel that good about how it's turning out tbh, it doesn't look that good but it does feels grippy. What should I do? Give it some more time? Thanks

Decided to do my own little Ryan London comparison. While it's entirely subjective, the open bottom is the clear winner for me. I prefer the clicker buttons, softer leather, but most importantly the smooth camera ring.

Bring on the patina!

For those of you with leather cases, do you feel they offer goof
D enough protection? I'm thinking of buying the Decoded leather case, but i'm worried that it won't offer enough protection at the gym etc....

Just want opinions. Is that not okay on this forum?
It must get very very boring for you asking the same case questions, week after week after week.

This particular one, you’ve had leather. You should be able decide whether you feel it’s protective enough for your phone use. You know how you’ll use your phone and where.

Why do you care what I ask? Are you obsessed with me or something?🙄

Using my RL open bottom and the case feels like it has a bit of flex in the sides like it’s a little big for the phone. Is this normal? If I give it a squeeze it squeaks a bit.
All of the bullstrap cases I have owned did this while 0 of my RL cases did.

edit: after using it for a few hours, i have noticed that the front sides pull away from the phone easier that my previous Bullstrap. a mild annoyance from an otherwise improved case.
Case looks gorgeous. I’d be annoyed by those front sides. BS just doesn’t fit well in my experience which is why I always stick with Ryan London.

Got my 16 pro Ryan London closed bottom in black just a bit ago. First off, putting it on was hard. Very tight fit on this one.

Leather is so butter soft; much softer than my open bottom dark brown. The leather is not rough one bit. Very rich and soft to the touch out the packaging unlike open bottom version.

Buttons feel tactile although a bit harder to press. Open bottom has much more clickiness on the buttons.

Everything was good until I got to the bottom speaker cutout. Leather is peeling! I don’t want to peel the excess leather off cause I’m afraid of peeling too much and possibly ruining the bottom.

All in all feels very good in hand. The leather smell is intoxicatingly strong. Idk if I got a dud with the leather peeling but I’ll have to live with it.

RL customer service is awful.
asked them a question why they dont ship to NL. only told my it’s a technical failure. No explanation or solution to make an order.
Asked them how long it would take them to fix this issue, never heard of them! No reply nothing.
customer service for me show how good a company or brand is. So, draw your own conclusion.
Hi i recently place the order from RL for 16pro Max case to Toronto and my order lost in mail somewhere.
Anyways i contacted RL and tell them whats happened and right away i was offer replacement or refund

What are you using your phone for at the gym? No phone case will survive a dumbbell drop. I’d be more concerned about the beach.

Interesting, my dark brown open bottom is a country mile softer than my saddle brown closed bottom. The dark brown feels like a soft baseball glove.

Why? If it’s a problem ask for a replacement.
Yea I’m not waiting a month for a replacement lol. I can live with it. Besides, I’m already wearing it and so far I’m liking it a lot.

I added leather conditioner to the dark brown and it softened up a little. Still a bit rougher to the touch than my black closed bottom. I guess the leather differs from case to case which is not necessarily a bad thing. Makes each case unique.

I think the grip they provide is enough to see it as protection but the actual dropping of the phone would provide decent enough protection as leather would take the hit first but even the otterbox's of the world have failed in saving the device so a leather one can definitely break the phone. My opinion would be to have apple care plus if you're worried about dropping and shattering your phone but the only thing that works is if you don't drop it as it's glass... In my personal experience I have dropped my phone several times with the leather case in the past and it was fine. Drops weren't like brutal but they did provide enough protection that the phone inside was fine.

Small drops leather will protect the phone but for bigger drops there are better case options. Just depends on the users lifestyle and how clumsy they are. I rarely drop mine and I have an office job so it’s low risk.
