My Hunter Green Andar Aspen just arrived and I'm really digging the color. I don't have a way to take pics, but it goes super well with the blue Pro. A few others have reported on this, but the camera control button is pretty stiff, but I don't use that button much so it won't affect me too much. Oh, and I know a few people complained about sharp buttons on previous models... this year's case feels like it has less sharp buttons.

Amazing colour. Reminds me of Apple leather in Forest Green and I LOVED that case.

Andar has horrible customer service. I will never purchase from them again. Buyer beware.

interested in a black leather case for my cosmic orange iphone 17 pro. Looking at Nomad, Ryan London and Andar. Any preferences between these three?

All three are fine but I'd go for whatever is the cheapest IMO (I say this because while you didn't list Bullstrap they charge $99 for their case. As much as I love Bullstrap there really isn't anything different between a $100 BS case and a $70 Andar one). I did hear something about the Andar cases having an issue with USB C chargers not fitting on the port or something, not too sure about all that.

*Edit: All that being said, Andar wins solely on the fact that they have a sick green color way out this year for the Pros and you rarely get good green leather cases.

Always had good service from them if anyone is put off by this
I’m not sure what happened to Andar. I was a first and now last time customer. I purchased the Aspen for my iPhone 17 Pro, paid $7.99 for shipping and $2.23 for return/exchange. That felt tacky, but I knew what I was getting into.

The quality of the leather seems good and the fit was nice, but USB C was cut incorrectly. This impacted the ability to charge. I contacted Andar and after about 10 emails, they seemed more interested getting their case back in new condition (are they going to sell it to someone else?) instead of getting me a replacement case. Just a very weird vibe from my customer service rep.

So now I am looking at other leather cases. I ordered a Bellroy leather (don’t like it), Lonli, and Belemay. The Lonli and Belemay are coming today. Also thinking about the Cactus (plastic) OtterBox, but not sure I like the rather large camera cutout?

Any thoughts on a good leather/fake leather case? Thanks!

I think the USB-C port problem only affects the iPhone Air. My 17 Pro Aspen fits a third-party cable just fine.

Did they make you take photos of your case? I've returned cases from Caudabe and Bullstrap and had to send them pics of my case too.

I sent them a picture when I emailed their support about the defect (before they asked.) I posted a pic in the iPhone 17 case thread. I figured they would send me a replacement case and then I could send mine back, but that’s not possible apparently.

I have scooped up an Andar in Navy and a Lonli Edition in Blue for my blue 17 Pro.

Pros and cons of each IMO:

Andar:
Pros - love the color (but it might end up almost black like Bullstraps Ocean cases). Clicky buttons, tight fit, good cutouts and camera control button. Nice leather.
Cons - I hate the metal rings around the camera housing/plateau. Maybe slightly worse signal because of it too?

Lonli Edition:
Pros - not as dark blue - so it will patina into that nice rich blue that the Andar starts as, I think. Fits well. Clicky buttons too. I LOVE the leather wrapped camera/plateau bump. Nice to have that soft thunk instead of a loud noise when I put it on a table, etc. Leather seems just as premium as Andar. Zero branding.
Cons - the camera control button seems loose. Whenever I touch it, I can physically see it moving more than I'd like. I honestly might just find a way to tape it from behind since I hardly ever use it.

Single pic for now - the Lonli edition does NOT look that bright in real life. The color on the Amazon listing is actually for once more true to life. My lighting sucks right now.

How is your network connectivity with the Lonli? I've been seeing more reports about the metal rings around the plateau affecting it.

Mine is coming on Monday, along with a Brown one - again for a blue Pro so very glad to hear that it goes well!

Damn that sucks, I have so far only ever had positive interactions with their CS team.
The interaction just felt off. More like they were more worried about getting a defective case back to them, than getting me a quick replacement.

I will say I’ve since tried 3 other leather cases and the Aspen is much better quality. The way it fits around the camera ring is better too.

Can you please post some more pics of that Lonli case?
I’ll try to later today or tomorrow. I ended up going back to the Andar and don’t have that case with me at this moment. The Lonli edition’s leather just doesn't do it for me. It feels extremely processed or something. Almost unnaturally smooth and rubber like feel. Not sure how to explain it. It doesn’t absorb any moisture like most other leather cases would without a huge artificial coating.

The Andar’s leather and general fit is so much better after actually comparing them for a full day, in my opinion. I just wish the Andar had the leather wrapped plateau surround! I think I was initially caught up in the hype of the surround.

Yeah if Andar had the leather surrounding camera Plateau, be ideal

They seem fine to me. The phone is currently in the Lonli edition - see pic below. I have the Andar next to it for comparison. The USB-C cable that gives me trouble with my iPad Pro in the Logitech Combo Touch case fits just fine with this case on my phone. Honestly the Andar one looks sloppy in comparison in my eyes.

Thank you! I went ahead and ordered one in black (I think the blue may not be dark enough for my tastes). Should get it tomorrow.

Got my Lonli Edition in black today. Looks great, leather feels great and buttons are fine. Cutout for the charging cable similar to the Nomad one, so I don’t think there will be any issues with fat charging cables. It also appears to have a little bit more of a lip around the screen than the Nomad. I do like the look of the buttons on the Nomad a little better. (Serrated power and action button), but they feel about the same. Overall, at this point, the Lonli wins for me (especially when you consider that it’s ~$35 cheaper than the Nomad Horween).

Pics below (Nomad on left, Lonli Edition on right and bottom with phone in it).

I will try to run a speed test later tonight(someone else posted that the regular Lonli case affects reception).
