My Lucky Coin arrived. I bought it before they released photos or announced that they were going with the partially covered plateau design.

I bought the Lonli edition cases (in blue and saddle brown) when I found out about the covered plateau thing (well, after I returned the Lonli Classic once I saw the impact of the metal ring on signal strength/speed).

The Lonli cases are just a tad too bulky, and I wasn’t much of a fan of the brown they went with (it’s almost pinkish and less rich—hard to capture with my 16 Pro). The leather feels more processed too, possibly with more of a coating. The blue would have been cool to see patina, but the extra bulk ultimately made me decide to return it.

I was pleasantly surprised with the LC—I don’t hate the covered plateau as much as I thought I would, and it feels slightly smaller in all dimensions than the Lonli, which I prefer. The case has almost no table rock, which was one of my initial concerns. Also, they did a very nice job moulding the leather around the edges of the camera bump, which helps. It almost feels more like the 15 Pro case than the 16 Pro (which wasn’t nearly as good IMO).

I also know how well LC cases patina over time and like the color they start with—which happens to very closely match my desk pad. I do wish they’d make a nice green.

It’s really hard to capture the subtle differences in dimension/feel in the hand between the Lonli and LC, but I tried. The LC just feels like it fits as close as it possibly could, and is slightly smaller in every dimension. Another thing that’s hard to capture that I really like is how the LC sides wrap with a curve to match the sides of the new design, with a very low lip on the front (Lonli’s lip is quite proud). The LC just feels great in the hand.

The camera button is also the best I’ve seen yet—no wobble, we’ve so slightly recessed in a perfect way, and functions like the real thing. The cutouts around the flash and LiDAR were perfect on mine, but maybe I just got Lucky (😉).

Next (and probably last) on my quest will be one to see is Blue Bonnet… if/when it finally ships. I’ll probably pick whichever feels the thinnest/least bulky.

I have a feeling LC might release one with a fully open camera area, since they have done multiple versions in the past. If they do, I think LC is the hands down the winner from what I’ve seen so far.

Why anyone buys BS is beyond me… especially this year with them both having the same camera plateau treatment, for those into that design (or neautral, which I’m beginning to think I might be due to all the other positive attributes).

Was looking for a leather case for my 15 Pro and saw Luckycoin mentioned a few times. Doesnt look like Amazon stocks the brown colors anymore, but took a chance on this green/teal color and its great! Its a lot less bright than in this picture but I am very pleased with it. One thing though, the case is VERY slippery! I imagine this will go down a bit after a bit of patina/wear in. Anyone else experience this?

They start slippery and dry feeling for sure. If you use a little leather conditioner or even a little olive oil, I’ve found that they soak it up and get grippy a lot quicker. Your hand oils will do the same thing but might take a week or two.

After finding LC I definitely feel like I’ve wasted a lot of money on overpriced cases lol. Enjoy the 15 Pro case! I think it was their best so far, it’s just the right combination of perfect camera/screen lip, light/compact, and good leather that ages well. I got my partner a couple of those since they’re so cheap and I’m assuming won’t keep being available (and she has a 15 Pro). I’m a little envious of how much more compact the 15 Pro feels in the Lucky Coin case than my 17 Pro in any case I’ve had so far.

Also, the natural titanium was just such a great looking color/material selection. I like my silver 17 Pro well enough, but that natty titanium is just perfect (so perfect that I mostly went caseless the last couple generations, which I’m a little more scared to do with the aluminum).

I’ve had my Andar “The Aspen” for my iPhone Air for 10 days now, and I have to say - I love this Andar case, and I absolutely love my new iPhone Air :) The leather feels amazing, and the buttons are just the way I like them. The only drawback: it’s really hard to find a USB-C cable that fits and works properly with this case. I finally found one, so now I’m completely satisfied.

A quick heads-up for EU buyers: I paid $105 for this case, including shipping. About 10 days later, FedEx sent me a tax bill for another $45, so in the end, this case cost me $150. Honestly, that’s way too much - but I’ll close my eyes for the price this time :D

Same case, same phone here. A lovely combo. Enjoy!

Also for anyone considering the Lonli Edition, be warned it doesn’t feel like leather, doesn’t smell like leather and has a very strange coating applied. The design of the case is great, but the feel is not for me.
Does it feel like the 12-14 series Apple Leather cases?

Ordered a blue bonnet case today too. The Lonli Edition brown is a little on the pink side and I'm not a fan lately.

That’s one advantage of the new design, the glass camera surround used to always hold dust where as with the aluminium I’ve not noticed anything (yet). But I agree, the BS design is going to trap dust etc behind it and against the aluminium.

I was holding it pretty much all day today and yeah the leather feels strange all of a sudden now. I ordered a blue bonnet.

I did too. Other than Lonli, is this the only leather-wrapped camera bump option that has a closed-bottom?
Did you see my post? It may not be for you, but my Lucky Coin with the partially covered camera plateau has a closed bottom. The design is growing on me—initially I wasn’t a big fan of this look, but their execution in all other areas might be winning me over. I ordered it before they released photos or what the design would look like.

I ordered a Blue Bonnet shortly after finding out that LC went the same direction as BS, but having had it for a day now, I’m now more okay with it, and since everything else is on point, I may learn to live with it if the BB doesn’t tick all the other boxes as well—I’m after the slimmest option with nice natural feeling leather that will patina well with good buttons and cutouts. The LC is all of those things, just with the partial plateau coverage. I wouldn’t be surprised if they release a fully open version sometime soon since that seems to be the strong majority preference (at least on this thread anyway).

Bellroy? The leather goes up to the ring but I’m not sure if the edges are still metal.

I also saw your other post about the leather comparison. No, it doesn’t feel like the old apple leather cases. Much softer.

I’m back in the Nomad Traditional Horween leather today. I keep waffling between that one and the Lonli Edition. The Nomad has better leather, and I like the buttons a little better. It’s also a little slimmer. But I much prefer the camera surround on the Lonli Edition. It also has a slightly bigger lip around the screen, which I think is nice protection wise. Also no logo on outside of the case which is a big plus (Nomad has discreet logo on side).

The blue bonnet you all have been talking about seems nice also, but it looks like it’s only available in saddle tan, whereas I’m a black case (or dark blue) guy. Even if it were available in black, not sure I want to spend $80 on another case…

Belroy has their stupid logo plastered on the back. No thanks.

TBH, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Lonli, Blue Bonnet, and Belroy are all made in the same factory in China and they just slap their own logos on them. They all look very similar in the photos.

Received the Nomad Modern in Olde Dublin. As some have found, it's a bit of luck whether it's darker than the packaging and product shots online.

More surprisingly, it looks very similar to my 14 Pro Apple Leather Umber case. I had removed the stock paint finish and let it patina on its own over three years.

While the Nomad does look great, I was hoping for something different after three years with my last case :D. I'll likely get the Nomad Traditional in Tan or the Ryan London open bottom in Saddle Brown once it's released in November. For now I'll be swapping between the Olde when I want more protection and an ultra-thin frosted case from x-level for when I want that "caseless" feel.

I ordered one Monday, the stupid facebook ads got me. I have not heard anything from them since and no shipping or anything yet
I ordered one yesterday and all I got was a automated email from the CEO.

I must say, I also ordered a Belemay and I think I may like it even better than the Andar. I do prefer the leather-wrapped style of the Bluebonnet case, but for $48 bucks, the Belemay looks and feels great.

Dang looked up Belemay but that metal ring kills it.

I just want
-Black
-No metal camera ring
-Closed bottom

with the camera cutout, not what BS is doing

Bellroy is better than nomad IMO, have both. Bellroy is exact same size as apple silicone case, softer and sides are leather, nomad is taller with the fat bottom, bit wider and harder on the bottom.
Logo doesn't worry me.
